A comment on the question "Need to creat an event" in Pointless Corp.:
Oh, you create an event in the course of creating a talk (the green button in the upper right corner). You don't create them separately. – M. Jackson Wilkinson, on March 02, 2009 03:04

Hey Grace, thanks for the comment. Just so you know, it's not a requirement, and you can skip it. It just supports our community goal of having real people give feedback, rather than anonymous drones/trolls. We're working on revising some of that flow to be more clear, but you're certainly more than welcome and invited to skip that step in the process.

Yup, good point. We're revisiting parts of this flow, and we'll certainly take a close look at that point and improve it where we can.
Thanks! – M. Jackson Wilkinson, on February 12, 2009 12:18

Thanks for the note, Blaine. It appears that you have in fact claimed your profile, according to what we're seeing.
The user profile http://speakerrate.com/blaine seems equivalent to the speaker profile http://speakerrate.com/speakers/211-b...
I'll drop you a quick note via email and we can get things straightened if it's still not working.

M. Jackson Wilkinson replied on February 11, 2009 14:55 to the problem "Subject line of email, and support email address not working" in Pointless Corp.:
Thanks for the feedback, Derek, and you're certainly right on both points. I'm sorry we gave you a bit of a sour first impression.
The email address bit was simply one hand not talking to the other in this case -- we'd set up info@ but not support@ -- but we should have that sorted with our next push to production.
We're also changing the subject line of the email to "Your talk has been added to SpeakerRate" to better reflect the flow involved when that email is sent.
Hopefully, this addresses those concerns. But we're certainly not intending any deception -- our internal/side projects just get a little less dotting of Is and crossing of Ts than our client work ;)
Definitely let us know if you have any more feedback for us!
