I'm thinking this may have more to do with your user preferences in Firefox. For example, with Tab Mix Plus, I can specify when focus shifts (on all clicked links that go to a new tab, only with ones that are popups, etc.) I think that if you middle click (or click left and right at the same time if you don't have a middle key), it will divert to a new tab without shifting focus. I'm not 100% sure though, but worth a try - I may have TMP set so that anything I click to a new tab doesn't take focus.

Okay, I just realized that a couple of my points have been addressed - the list on the left can be dragged/dropped to specify order, and the list is defaulting to 20 categories with a more tag for additional ones.
Still, I'd like to have it truncate to a smaller number of categories or scroll when I'm on a smaller screen or in a smaller browser window.
WillTri4Cupcakes replied on May 28, 2009 12:32 to the idea "Left sidebar ideas" in Feedly:
Do you have the newest release? Because in mine, the left bar stays still while content scrolls to the right.
As for the "more" link, I think it would be infinitely more useful if the list actually truncated based on window size (maybe it does on smaller monitors, but I'm not sure - I have a firefox window that isn't maximized and is shorter than the list, but instead of the list truncating and giving me the more link, the list extends out of the window, and doesn't scroll, so my window has to be resized to see the items lower on the list).
I'm assuming that right now, the more link is there there in the event that someone has a LOAD of categories. It may be MORE useful if users could specify which tags/categories show in that list (top 10, top 15...or something) and the order of them.-

WillTri4Cupcakes replied on May 16, 2009 15:31 to the problem "Popup/Overlay position - Can't see "Send" button" in Feedly:
Okay, sorry it took me a little time to get the screenshot. Hopefully these will work to show what I mean.
First, I have clicked on the email button in feedly mini and this is where the overlay shows up:
If I close the overlay and adjust my window size, it makes no difference - the send and cancel links are still obscured (although not entirely on this screen/in this particular instance, though on another computer, it does stay completely obscured with some different relative window sizes):
HOWEVER, if I leave the overlay up there (ie, don't hit escape) and resize the window while the overlay is open, I can access the send/cancel links - I just don't think I should need to resize the window every time I want to send something.
WillTri4Cupcakes reported a problem in Feedly on May 14, 2009 13:27:
Popup/Overlay position - Can't see "Send" buttonNot sure if there is some kind of preference or if this is something I can fix myself, but I am having a problem with all of the overlays/popups for Feedly. Namely, that they are never entirely in view, so the "Send" button is obscured. The tops are always in view and I can type in them without any problem, but I always have to adjust the size of my Firefox window in order to see and click on the send button. I'm guessing that there's some setting that is putting the overlay a certain distance from the top of the page. I can post a screenshot later if I need to.
Also, not sure if this has to do with the fact that my Firefox window is typically half the height of my screen (I have a pretty large monitor and keep an eye on things in the background usually.-

WillTri4Cupcakes replied on May 12, 2009 21:09 to the idea "Scheduling shares, particularly on Twitter, in order to avoid being "that person" who posts a ton of things in a row" in Feedly:
Yep, I think that's a great way to implement it to start with. Of course, I know some people would love to have more fine-tuned control over how often it goes out, but to keep it simple, maybe just allow a user to specify the interval? 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc?
I've also asked the folks with Twaitter if they have any plans to release an API or other mechanism for other services to integrate/communicate with them. It may be beyond the scope of what Feedly is doing or considering, but I LOVE how fine-tuned their service is in general. I think that level is almost certainly outside of the scope of what Feedly is geared toward, but if I had a way to send my info to Twaitter and then utilize their controls, that would be heavenly for someone who is a control freak!
Sorry to ramble! Just bouncing ideas around. I think your idea is a good way to pull the idea into Feedly without being "too much" and without trying to be everything since that's usually not the best way to go.
WillTri4Cupcakes asked a question in Twaitter on May 12, 2009 19:57:
Interacting with other services - API planned or other mechanism to shareAre there any plans to allow interaction with other services? For example, I use Feedly to read blogs, etc. and I like to share things that I come across. But, I often read a bunch at a time and don't want to send out a ton of tweets right that second because I don't want to overwhelm followers, etc. If there was a way for something like feedly to interact with twaitter, it'd be a winning combination!
Perhaps more generally, since I suppose Feedly may be "specific", are there plans to release an API, or allow scheduling by email, for example?
WillTri4Cupcakes shared an idea in Feedly on May 12, 2009 19:53:
Scheduling shares, particularly on Twitter, in order to avoid being "that person" who posts a ton of things in a rowIt would be great if there was a way to schedule tweets through Feedly. I like to read my stories in bursts, and share them, but I know that people who follow me on Twitter probably hate when I share 5, 6, 7 or more links in a relatively short period of time. I'd love to be able to schedule tweets somehow - I know there is Twaitter, which allows scheduling, but I don't think they have an API released that would allow interaction with their service. I'm not sure how difficult this would be, but it would be a GREAT addition, in my opinion!
