If you setup a program like gAttach (see https://bumptop.pbwiki.com/Advanced-C...), you can also use your webmail clients like gmail. Unfortunately, I'm not too sure if there are any Hotmail/Yahoo equivalents, but if so, you'd be able to use those as well.

Hi Jack,
That's a problem we've never seen occur before -- did anything happen during the installation? Since BumpTop is using the same msi installer as many other programs, it is unlikely that simply installing caused the partition table issues. If you check your hard drive's SMART properties, what does it say as to the state of your hard disk?

Good catch, we're actually just using an arbitrary order for the gridding since the initial positions of the icons (while they are pseudo aligned already in your case) can be arbitrary (ie. they can all be stacked on top of each other). We'll try and have a fix for this in one of our future updates.

We share your enthusiasm for the open source movement, but companies like Mozilla are the exception and not the norm (Mozilla used to sell commercial software as well, and just take a look at how many OS projects there are on sourceforge!). For the time being, we are looking at a more traditional business model, so that we have the opportunity to develop BumpTop a little further and reconsider these other options down the line.
winson replied on December 09, 2008 16:45 to the question "Bump Top memory usage" in BumpTop:
That's correct, it greatly depends on the number and type of icons on your desktop (ie. if there are a larger number of images, then we have to generate a larger number of thumbnails, etc.). Also note that the task manager is not entirely accurate as to the current memory usage (better in Vista than XP though), as it's up to the OS to determine if it needs to reallocate memory taken by a program for another process.
winson replied on December 08, 2008 21:01 to the problem "access control?" in BumpTop:
Hi Alberto,
The current upgrade process actually just reinstalls BumpTop anew, which is useful for us since we are still in the process of determining exactly which files we need for the final product and don't want to leave lingering files on our user's machines. As for why BumpTop requires admin access during the installation, that has already been explained above and is not unlike the installation of other highly integrated Windows applications like Photoshop or Office. After installation, BumpTop will just run with your user permissions and security level.

Hi There,
We only really install the shortcuts to the Start Menu, Desktop, and the Quick Launch bar, but it appears as if your installation is somehow confused as to where these paths actually lead. MTFaye's question is a good one, and if you could do a quick test:
Remove the shortcut next time you see it, then open up the BumpTop Settings and change the setting to start up with Windows, and apply. If that incidentally creates the shortcut at C:\ again, let us know and perhaps we can do some quick debugging on your system.
Thanks

This is an interesting idea, and certainly something that we can visit in the future, but for the general public, hiding functionality behind ui behaviours like RMB, RMB+Drag+hotkeys is not usually a good idea.
Have you tried our Marking Menu (what you refer to as the wheel menu) Ballistics mode? Hold down the right mouse button and move towards the direction of the command that you want. Releasing immediately then invokes that action.
