I am on the south shore, I have had this issue for 3 years now. if Verizon fios is in your area go for it, I don't have any other choice at the moment. Just so you know I have had every wire,and connector from the pole all the way to the cable box replaced.. 11 cable boxes have been replaced in the past 3 years. I am waiting for the digital transition to go through so I can go with antenna service its free and better signal quality with no compression like comcast uses,, or until fios tv arrives – wmckin7, on June 09, 2009 00:28

If you all don't need all the channels and have a built in HD tuner go with a good old fashion antenna, Thats what I did and the picture seems much better, Comcast is the only game in town at the moment and the dish can't get a strong signal. the only thing I pay for is the electric bill, FIOS is in but doesn't have the TV side running yet. I was wondering if anyone out there is haveing similar issues but with FIOS??? – wmckin7, on May 19, 2009 12:13

Sounds like a typical answer, but are you still having tiling and freezing? Let me know how you like Directtv I am curious.. I did get a HD antenna to see if the quality was any better this past weekend and it was!!!! to my surprise only thing I can receive 33 stations some are duped 1 std 1 HD but I miss some of the cable stations like HGTV and discovery, I heard today Comcast is going up 6% next year?? that must mean the quality is going up as well...LOL or maybe its to make up for the customers they are losing.... – wmckin7, on October 27, 2008 20:02

Comcast has this thing called a Cricket which they can put them in your house and at each node along your segment and they can pinpoint the issue alot better, I did get someone from the head end and they are now seeing the issue there , where for the last 2 years( actually over 2 years ) they said they did not see anything. I don't know how long they will take to fix this issue, but as you can see how long it has taken to get this far, I was hoping this may help someone else out. I believe the head end has been the problem all along and they are the ones that don't care..I wish I could have the Techs that have come out to my house could go to yours,, I will admit they have been Awesome to me and when they say they have to pass things up the chain they have done so, as they can only do so much before it is another depts responsibility, but I would agree with you about the hour window thing... Good luck,

Just try the cancellation dept, they might pick up faster, Do yourself a favor and just cancel, Just reading all these posts must tell you something.
