This issue has been resolved successfully. One note, new serial numbers where issued and when trying to install I was trying to install to my secondary hard drive and I got the following message. "An error has been detected and activation cannot continue. Please restart your computer and reinstall the application.". I uninstalled the application and reinstalled again trying for the second hard drive with the same results. I uninstalled again and this time I let it install to the default "C:" drive and it installed fine and validated fine. Not sure what that is all about.

Xandian asked a question in Adobe on September 19, 2009 05:03:
Adobe CS3 Activation - Customer Service Hell!!! 02In December 2008, I bought Photoshop CS2 and in January 2009, I bought Dreamweaver CS3. They where both used> As I received each one I installed them with the serial number on the packages and then when I opened them each at their respective times they each went through the validation process. This means the programs each contacted ADOBE VALIDATION and where validated. They didn't validate where else but Adobe validation. At this time this meant that the serial numbers where valid for the respective software packages or they would not have validated. Apparently during my research I found out that with CS3 products Adobe started working with Omniture. The welcome screen (screenshot) that’s available in some Adobe CS3 applications (Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and InDesign) is designed to show fresh, relevant news and information. For that reason it loads a Flash SWF file that’s hosted on Adobe.com, just as a Web browser would do. When the SWF gets loaded, it pings the Omniture server to record the event. As noted previously, no personal information is uploaded in that exchange. This means you can verify that what I am saying is factual for my Dreamweaver CS3 software. You have machine and software ID.
Recently my machine got vundo A Trojan from a client hard-drive I was trying to clean. I eventually had to reformat my machine. A pain in the neck but OK gotta do what I gotta do. I reinstalled many programs no problem. When I installed my Photoshop CS2 everything went fine on the install, however when I opened the program and it went to do the validation an error message came up saying "An error has been detected and activation cannot continue. Please restart your computer and reinstall the application.". I did this a couple of times and realized there was more to this issue. I then contacted Adobe Customer Service through the chat service. I explained how I had installed Photoshop CS2 earlier this year and everything worked fine, validated fine, updating no problem. The ACS person then asked for the serial number of my Photoshop CS2 I gave her the following one I used Not Even a Year ago with no problem 1045-1083-4989-1530-0060-9508. I asked at this time if my Dreamweaver CS3 serial number 1192-1597-5108-5394-5173-6330 would do the same thing? The Adobe Customer Service person asked me to hold while she checked. The ACS person came back and told me that both serial numbers where invalid. I asked how could this be if I was able to install with these same serial numbers and they validated earlier this year with no problem? This ACS person would not or could not answer that one question. How could I use the same numbers less than a year ago and they where valid then because they validated and now they are invalid?
