World map of songs currently playing with SpotifyHow about generating a world map of songs currently playing with Spotify, e.g. using inputs from Google latitude if available, IP addresses and user registered addresses.

Shazam-like: listen and catch up on the beat.I'd love it if you guys had a module like Apple's Shazam, that recognizes music that the microphone captures.
Say someone near you is listening to something you like. You click, Spotify listens, identifies the song, finds out at which point of the song she is, and catches up on the beat.
Can you imagine a song spreading through a whole building...
I'm especially excited about the consensus algorithm for the case where everybody is listening to one another ;-D

Chris, if you don't mind sparing 30 bucks you can use G-Force Platinum. I haven't tried Platinum so I don't guarantee anything. But they say with the standalone capability you can visualize any audio source. I guess you just have to select to visualize "line-in" or "microphone" when Spotify is playing.

Before buying you can try their free plugin for iTunes. In my opinion, these guys rule!

Arn't users better placed to branch/merge topics?
As a user when I'm going to post I check first if the topic exists. I might find several relevant topics. I might comment on one of them but I would prefer my comment to be visible on all of them. I'd do something like a merge.
I'm reading a post. It gives me an idea. I hesitate to write the idea as a comment because it is kind of related but I don't want to interrupt the mainstream conversation. I'd do something like a branch.
Links might be interesting. Say, after a comment you can check : "Detach and link" (would start a new topic and link it) or "Link to other topics". Whatever *link* means...
In fact the whole thing could be a directed graph of single contributions... In fact that's relevant to every forum.

How about including a DJ deck in the free version (or, say, maybe premium) for DJ'ing at home? Then, in addition to saving playlists, you could save and share your own mixes, and get famous as an amateur DJ on Spotify...
Of course saving a mix would not involve actually recording it. It is *only* a matter of saving the beat, the fading, and the offset for every tune in the mix.
I would love to see that in Spotify.-
