Xenius started following the idea "Why don't start adding songs that deejaypromo.com shows?" in Spotify.

Yup, agree m8.
Well, hopefully the service will develop to a real premium service when it comes out of beta ;)
As it is now, really not worth the money in my oppinion. A lot of free alternatives out there ;)
Really can't see how it would compete with established services like Napster where available.

Hello Andreas,
Did your suggested search, and in Sweden the number is 1.844.990.
So seems like the same amount available as in Germany.
It's a long way up to Napster's aprox. 6.000.000 songs :(
Not to sound pessimistic, but when regarding music, the quantity matters. I would like to listen to what i want, when i want.
Sad to find only a few albums available for each artist.
I like Spotify, but it is far from "Last.fm on acid" as i was told it would be :(
Too bad Napster is limited to certain countries.
Out of curiosity: Why would you prefer Spotify over Napster, when Napster is available in you country ?
Xenius asked a question in Spotify on October 18, 2008 21:58:
Why such a limited catalog ?Just joined a premium account from Sweden, and i am a bit disappointed:
The library is VERY limited. Why is that ?
If you do a compariosn with napster, napster has at least 2-3 times the amount of albums available for a certain artist, than Spotify has.
For example the newest album available for Blank & Jones dates back to 2003!
This is not what i expect from a premium service..
Why is that ? I would belive, that if you had an agreement with a label, the discography of those artists belonging to that label should be available ?
Is it because the app is still in beta, and the backcatalog will be added overtime, or will it be like this always ?
A suggestion: Would be nice with a song counter going something like "now indexing xxxx number of songs", so we could se the progress of the library.
