I fail to see how letting me browse (and chat with) guys in another area betrays your 'core principle' (?!) -- if my location is always where I *am*, anyone I chat with (or attempt to) can reply (or not) whether they're interested (or not) in chatting with guys from other areas -- why is that such an awful thing?

It's a small thing, and I realize you won't always be able to do this -- but having a sign-on message letting us know that you're having server issues goes a LONG way -- at least we (the users) then know that you (the developers) know that there's an issue. And knowing is, as they say, half the battle. Thanks!

If you're tracking users via the iPhone device ID or some such couldn't you at least give us a way (via the Grindr app) to delete the profile? This 'solution' seems clumsy at best

Yeah I have to agree -- between the endless connection problems (which *knock wood* seem to be resolved) and the equally irritating arbitrary profile deletions coupled with the Grindr staffs Keystone Cops (mis)management of both issues -- "Oh it'll get better soon. . ." -- there's really not much good will left. Yes, we get what we pay for, in this case considerably less.

While I'm cautiously (very, very cautiously) optimistic, as I've had no connection problems for 24 hours -- I still think you need to think about making the app fail more gracefully (and it will fail, it's just inevitable, servers will go down despite your best intentions and safeguards). Having the link to a status page (be it twitter or on grindrguy.com) within the app is also a great idea.

this is a known problem that's been plaguing grindr for, quite literally, months. New servers haven't helped. But we're assured that it'll get better "Real Soon Now"

This has been a known issue for at least a week; the excuse of 'we just hired new censors' is seeeeeeriously wearing thin.
