This seems like very basic functionality that would greatly increase utility of comments. It is possible to autolink URLs and still sanitize. Check out http://drupal.org input formats for examples.

let me respond to shouts without checking in where the other person shouted...I know you don't want to duplicate services like twitter, but if you want me to use shizzow for meetups, I might need to converse with someone without necessarily checking in at their location

eg, someone says "I'm here!" and I want to say "Will you be there for at least 1 hour so I can join you?"

Since I usually start from the Shizzow home page (to see recent shouts), but often want to shout from my favorite places, don't make me scroll to get to them.
