A comment on the question "Hulu, flash, miro problem" in Participatory Culture Foundation (Miro):
Actually, sg's solution is very helpful. And not a marketing "scam" for Firefox. You might read it again, if you are so inclined. – xwaver, on July 16, 2009 06:04

A comment on the problem "None of Flock's features are working" in Flock:
Evan said to me in his last office hours session that the developers had solved this in the new version due this or next month. – xwaver, on May 03, 2009 08:12
A comment on the idea "delicious" in Ping.fm:
I'm sure that the implementation plan is the bulk of the discussion, not the "should we or shouldn't we". They've got good work ahead of and behind them. – xwaver, on March 27, 2009 03:31
xwaver replied on March 17, 2009 21:04 to the question "Why does the site feed for things like Hulu not work under Linux?" in Participatory Culture Foundation (Miro):
Some notes:
- Hulu shows can be added manually by ('Sidebar' menu > 'Add Site' > 'http://www.hulu.com/heroes' or whatever other show.)
- This shows the show title normally in the sidebar, and presents a xulrunner page when selected.
- Attempting to play a video in the resulting window displays the message 'Hulu requires Flash Player 9 or higher'.
- Flash Player 10, which should contain all the necessary elements is available for download, but not compile or redistribution
- xulrunner 1.9 allows a linked version of /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so in other applications, like Flock, Prism, etc.
So, long story short, can the developers create a workaround that allows a scan of /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so, /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so, /home/user/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so, or any other reasonable directory so that Miro can use a native copy of Flash, and thereby solve the problems?-

A comment on the idea "MySpace mood option changes with ping status" in Ping.fm:
MySpace also has a new front-end for status and mood. Has the API changed to allow mood update also? As posted below, they added freeform mood options a while back. – xwaver, on February 28, 2009 15:54

Ping.fm also allows some other features that make it a very powerful back-end, like location posting and a set of already developed commands and shorthand for micro-blogging, status update, blog posting, and link posting (via delicious). I agree that since they are constantly adding services to their back-end, that it would add more functionality than Flock is prepared to commit to. For example, they now offer AIM and GTalk status integration as well.-
