A comment on the idea "Future check-in" in Brightkite:
But the thing is, the post here says "you could put Dopplr out of business", and the other thread said "Dopplr does it just fine". But here, Brady is considering it, and doesn't say "use Dopplr for that" like the other thread did. So, not really. – Thomas, on May 28, 2008 19:46

On April 18, this idea was shot down. On April 29, the company is considering this idea? I don't understand, miscommunication?

Revisiting:
It would also be great to include 'in transit' to a location, although I am not quite sure how this would be implemented. so I'm leaving @home to go to @work, and expect a 15 minute travel time.
This would give people at my @work node notification that I'm on my way and give them a chance to respond accordingly.

absolutely second. This would be huge, and allow brightkite to swing into the mainstream of event-planning and people-discovering.
Also, I like the idea of last.fm integration, but am not sure how open their API is on the events side of things, perhaps yacobucci should suggest this to the last.fm devs as the brightkite API goes public.

What else would be cool is some kind of integration with last.fm. In last.fm I select that I'm going to see Tapes 'n Tapes at the Bluebird on May 17th. That show comes rolling around and I could get checked in via Brightkite so people interested can see I'm rocking to some tunes. – yacobucci, on May 06, 2008 19:02
