Yeraze reported a problem in twitterfeed on September 09, 2009 19:28:
No longer updatingEverything worked fine yesterday, but my feed is not updating today. The RSS is working fine (see it at http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.inf... ), but Twitterfeed isn't pulling it or posting to the @VizWorld account.
I would think it was related to the Apple Keynote, but an 8am (Eastern) update didn't make it through either, and that was 4 hours before the keynote..
Yeraze asked a question in Evernote on May 24, 2009 22:47:
Why won't my PDF's show icons or covers?I email alot of PDF's into EverNote, but recently alot of PDF's don't show a PDF Icon in the Web Interface, and don't show thumbnails in the Mac Client. All I get is a generic dog-eared attachment icon.
Any idea what's wrong? I can open the attachment in Preview (on my mac) just fine.

Sadly no, all data has been purged and cannot be recovered.
but one must admit that if you haven't noticed until now, and you didn't get a single reminder or digest in the month that the warning banner was shown, then you must not have really been using Sandy too much anyway.
either way, it's sad to see her go. – Yeraze, on January 12, 2009 14:09

You'll need to login to IWS first, then visit the Export page. Otherwise it will redirect you. – Yeraze, on December 03, 2008 21:33

I guess someone has to say it, but Google Calendar. it's what i'm using now.
It allows for SMS and email reminders/alerts, and they're configurable. No scheduling via email tho. Their "quick-add" isn't quite as flexible as Sandy's, and all quick-add events go to the "Default" calendar. This would be ok if they had something like tags, but they don't so you kinda have to use Multiple calendars to achieve order (Work calendar, home calendar, project calendar, etc).

Well, the comments about Rael only posting more information in response to the outcry here are a bit incorrect. Rael's plan was always to spend today/tonight working on that very issue, and in fact is making good progress:
* Export is coming along
* A banner is now on the website
* All future email from SAndy (reminders, digests, lookups) will contain information about the shutdown
* A tweet just went out to all Sandy's followers

Wow.. I think the visceral outlashes here are a bit excessive. I understand that 2 weeks is a short time for transition, but given that Sandy is a Free Service that Rael developed on his own (He is the sole developer of the Product) I think he's done a fine job. Given that Stikkit/IWS product absolutely no revenue for Rael and he's funding the server maintenance costs out of his own pocket, I think a 2 week period is more than we should even expect.
As the IP is transitioning to a significantly larger entity (Twitter), it's definitely possible that IWS will be back within a matter of days/weeks once it's finished transitioning from Rael's hosting to Twitter's internal servers. We simply don't know what Twitter's intentions are.
Rael has done a fine job of developing a product that lots of people love and care about, and one thing the Internet is good at is keeping ideas alive. Even if Twitter doesn't care to stand IWS back up, Rael has proven that the concept is technically possible and realistically productive and desirable. That alone will be enough for someone to take the idea (Twitter, RTM, or some other unknown) and bring it back.

Yeraze replied on November 25, 2008 20:31 to the question "How to download contacts, bookmarks, and notes from Sandy?" in I want Sandy:
Rael is currently developing an Export feature that will come online in the next few days. With that you'll be able to download all your data:
* Appointments as an iCal file
* Contacts as a vCard file
* Notes & Bookmarks as a Text File
The first two will make for easy import into other software, while the 3rd is a bit more difficult to deal with just because of the "Unstructured" nature of "Notes".
