The "We'll be back soon" screen is awfully barren. Couldn't you add like a picture of a panda or a soaring eagle?
Tom Joad reported a problem in CrowdEye on July 10, 2009 04:59:
Your site does not work very well with IE6.I am sure the LAST thing that a Web 2.0 company would care about is this (but I still feel obligated to report it to you):
Your site does not appear to work with Internet Explorer 6. Today I went to a Seattle library. EVERY computer in EVERY Seattle library runs Internet Explorer 6, no exceptions.
When I went to Crowdeye using IE6, I saw the default CrowdEye page. When I enter in a valid search term, and click on search, I am taken to the next page and...nothing!
Same thing if you click on one of the featured links (like "Obama") on the home page. The links work find, you can watch and see the url change, but the next page has nothing...
I know that relatively few people use IE6...just those poor souls who have to rely on computers at their local libraries.
This was the user agent thing of the computer I was sitting at:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30)
Repro Steps:
1. Navigate to www.crowdeye.com on a PC running IE6
2. Enter in a search term
3. Go to the next page
Result: Using IE6 as the active web browser, result do not appear to be enumerated on the second page of crowdeye
Expected: Either basic functionality using IE6, or an error screen telling users to use Safari or Chrome

Update:
Staring at 12:55 pm PST, it crashed for me 4 out of 4 times during login.
Now, at 1:05pm PST, it has allowed me to login 3 ouf of 3 times WITHOUT a crash. One item of note, however, it is now EXTREMELY sluggish during login.
Sorry to sound the alarms, but I almost never run into crashes with your site, so I was really surprised.
Plus, I have had about six cups of coffee so I am really hyper!

Hi Lesley-
Here's an update for you, currently (11:30am) I now have "<< Previous" and "Next >>" links on my account...
But there's a new problem, I can only select it once, so it leads me to believe that I only have a total of 40 friends.
But I have more than 40 friends, and I can continue to enumerate them by adding numbers up or down to the url:
http://brightkite.com/people/RobbyD/f...
Strange. But, it looks as if you all have done a partial fix. And for that, I thank you!
:)

My Web Account: The option to scroll through lists of friends has disappeared!Description:
Dear BK-
I have an odd problem with my web account. On BK it says that I have 140 friends, except when I go to look at my friends in list form, I don't have a "<< Previous" or a "Next >>" link at the bottom.
Since I have been doing an art project thing, as opposed to normal social networking, I would guess that I have had more people end their friendships with me most.
Yet, I still find it to be an irritating bug that I cannot scroll through my lists of friends.
Repro Steps:
1. (While not signed in) Navigate to http://brightkite.com/people/RobbyD
2. From http://brightkite.com/people/RobbyD click on the "Friends (140)" tab
3. From http://brightkite.com/people/RobbyD/f... scroll down to the bottom of the screen
4. Note that this account lacks a "<< Previous" and a "Next >>" at bottom of Friend's list
5. Compare with any other BK account that has multiple friends
Result: A BK account with multiple friends lacks a "<< Previous" and a "Next >>" on friend's list
Expected: That my account will have a "<< Previous" and a "Next >>"

Hello, the date today is 07/07/2009. Time is 2:25 pm PST.
Everytime I go to www.brightkite.com, I get a "Problem loading page" screen.
I guess BK is down?
I went to "down for everyone or just me" and it told me that it was just me???
