Account Creation: Text implies that get-togethers are still a feature. Are they?Dear zoodango/GeoPage:
Hello, I just created a test account today, and after signing up I was left on a page that said:
"why sign up?" and underneath that it said:
"GeoPage users can join venue communities and invite your friends to get-togethers using our smart invitation tool."
I looked around, and I think you took out the invitation tool... I couldn't find a mention of it in the FAQ's.
Repro Steps:
1. Navigate to http://www.geopage.com/profile/create
2. Enter and Re-Enter an email address then click on "Create Profile"
3. Read the text on "Why Sign Up" to the left of the screen
Result: During account creation there is text which displays as "GeoPage users can join venue communities and invite your friends to get-togethers using our smart invitation tool."
Expected: This text to be changed if the get-togethers feature has been removed

URL yoinkery: Entering in characters into the “viewer” portion of the url results in an uninformative error pageDescription:
Dear Crowdeye.com-
If the user has a url like this: http://www.crowdeye.com/viewer.aspx?q... , they can click inside of the “viewer” portion and enter in any characters.
This will lead users to a url like this: http://www.crowdeye.com/vie99wer.aspx... , which is an uninformative error message.
In the scenario of the second url, the user should be presented with a graceful error message and links back to crowdeye.com.
Repro Steps:
1. Navigate to www.crowdeye.com
2. Enter in any search term (“fish” for example) and click on “search”
3. Navigate cursor to http://www.crowdeye.com/viewer.aspx?q... url
4. Click inside of the “viewer” portion of the url
5. Enter in a number or letter inside of “viewer”
6. Press Return
7. Note the user is taken to an ungraceful “Server Error in “/” Application” page
Result: If the user messes around with a crowdeye url and enters in a number or letter in the “viewer” portion of the url, the user is taken to an ungraceful “Server Error in “/” Application” page
Expected: The user should not be left on an ungraceful “Server Error in “/” Application” page. User should be presented with a screen explaining that the url might be mistyped or unknown, user should be given links back to the website.

Dear Lesley-
Add me as a user who just recently ran into this problem. Like many Mac users, I long ago lost my OS X install disk thing, I also long ago forgot whatever password I set, which is required to update all software on my MacBook.
I basically am stuck using the version of FF2 that I have on my MacBook.
I was in California for a while and used BK on my MacBook using FF2 almost everyday.
VERY recently, perhaps 3 weeks ago, the http://brightkite.com/#login_modal url does not activate the log-in box.
This is my user agent on my MacBook for FF2 which is causing this problem:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071025 Firefox/2.0.0.9
PLEASE NOTE: On the same MacBook, this problem reproduces on Safari 2 but NOT Opera 9.63.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could fix this, and I urge BK to remember that a great many Mac users are like me, without an OS X disk and with no memory of old passwords!

Opera: Frequent crash after uploading photo the first timeDear Urbanspoon-
Please tell your web developer people that I keep running into a "whoops" error message using urbanspoon.
While using Opera, the application will often crash after the uploading of the first photo (.jpg) to a restaurant.
What I do is use tabbed browsing, and while I am uploading a photo to a restaurant, I click on another tab.
This will frequently give me a "whoops" message using Opera.
Repro Steps:
1. (with multiple tabs open) Navigate to www.urbanspoon.com using Opera
2. Sign in > Go to a restaurant that does not have a photo uploaded to it
3. While photo is uploading to a restaurant for the first time, click on another tab
Result: Frequent "whoops" error messages from uploading photos to restaurants using Opera as web browser
Expected: No "whoops" error messages from uploading photos to restaurants using Opera as web browser
Note: I have hit this "whoops" message every time I have used your site using Opera.

Lesley-
I ran a search on the internet and this address "1815 Connecticut Ave NW" is a Rite Aid Pharmacy.
http://www.merchantcircle.com/busines...
I went through the visitor stream for "1815 Connecticut Ave NW" and there are a lot of BK users who check into this address.
Seems a little odd. I often like to post to a city, and have never once been directed (by default) to a random street address.

Searches for "Washington D.C." bring back a street addressDescription:
Dear BK:
Running a search using the phrase "Washington D.C.", brings users to an address of "1815 Connecticut Ave NW". While running a search using the term "District of Columbia" takes users to a "District of Columbia" check in point.
Have a street address returned for such a basic search term is strange. I tried many other U.S. and World cities using Brightkite, and nothing comparable resulted.
Repro Steps:
1. Navigate to www.brightkite.com
2. Run a place search for "Washington D.C."
3. Note that users are taken to an address of "1815 Connecticut Ave NW"
4. Run a place search for "District of Columbia"
5. Note that users are take to a "District of Columbia"
Result: Running a place search for the term "Washington D.C." is taking users to a street address of "1815 Connecticut Ave NW"
Expected: That running a search for "Washington D.C." will take users to the "District of Columbia" check in point.
A comment on the problem "List of businesses became squished" in zoodango:
I went back and then selected the "recommend" button for the Ballard Jam House, and then as soon as I did, the listing of it in the list of businesses got "crushed" – Tom Joad, on May 10, 2009 19:29
