Yoong Shin Chow asked a question in Songbird on April 11, 2009 03:00:
So much trouble with Songbird on my ubuntuI have trouble getting Songbird to work on my Ubuntu 8.10. I tried both the .deb (Songbird 1.1.1) as well as the 1.1.2 tar. Both I have trouble to launch. And I constantly have a few songbird and songbird-bin running.
I tried un-installation and reinstallation and rebooted my machine. Still, once I logged on, I will find songbird-bin running already.
When I launched Songbird, I keep getting Songbird Crash Reporter popping up. I have a choice to quit songbird, or restart songbird. If I quit, nothing happens. But if I restart, I get an alert would say .. there is already a Songbird running I must close that window before I launch Songbird again. The same thing happens if I first quitted then try to launch songbird again. It's like a catch22.
I am usually pretty patient in installing and tuning "new" softwares, but this is very unstable and I get stuck and can't make any progress.-
