Dan and Steffan -
We hear you. As you know, everything is work even if some things are less work than others. Our list of to-do's is long and of course we have to prioritize them and focus on the stuff that provides the biggest benefit to the biggest set of users. We understand that the apis here are similar to Twitter so that will help obviously. We want to support a broad variety of networks, but just can't give a specific timeframe for individual networks as we just don't know at this point. As a user myself, I know that can be frustrating.
Given the number of requests we get to add different networks and our limited resources as a small company, we absolutely have discussed and would like to build an open plug in api that developers could use to add their favorite networks. It is a great idea. Hopefully we can provide something like this sooner rather than later. In the meantime, we appreciate your enthusiasm and patience!

Eckard - thanks for the feedback. This topic is marked answered simply because Adam, a company employee as noted on his pic, responded. That's how Get Satisfaction works, for better or worse. The issue is not resolved and we are actively working on it. There were several facebook connection problems that were fixed in our last release (6.2.1). If you are running that and the problems were not resolved there are several things to note:
- Facebook itself has a problem periodically expiring sessions for third party apps (we are not the only app affected) and it is a bug Facebook is actively looking at. We have given them as much info as we can to help them solve the problem.
- It's also possible of course there is a bug in Yoono. You can help us diagnose and fix this by following the instructions here on Get Satisfaction for running a debug build and sending us a log file: http://bit.ly/LadRp
Appreciate your help. I can assure you that we want to fix this even more than you do.
Todd Pringle replied on September 29, 2009 16:59 to the question "Can I use Yoono with Google Chrome?" in Yoono:
In the interim we have launched a standalone desktop app for Mac and Windows - you can get it at our website http://www.yoono.com
Todd Pringle replied on September 25, 2009 21:19 to the problem "Facebook Not Updating or Showing Status Updates" in Yoono:
Gotcha, thanks Tiffany. We had a bug awhile ago where this would happen if you took some specific actions in Yoono though typically restarting would solve the issue. We fixed that specific bug but maybe there is another case that can get you into this state. Does restarting Firefox not fix the issue? We will take a look at it and see if we can reproduce the problem so we can fix it. Appreciate your feedback!
Todd Pringle replied on September 25, 2009 20:13 to the problem "Facebook Not Updating or Showing Status Updates" in Yoono:
Ah, I see Tiffany. That is actually how it is designed, let me explain:
- If you are at the TOP of your updates list (no updates below it, can only scroll downward), you should see updates automatically appear at the top when they come in
- If you are anywhere else besides the top, we show the refresh banner at the top, similar to how Facebook itself works, mainly because if we automatically updated then everything would scroll and you'd lose your place in your stream.
Does that clear things up? Again, if you're sitting at the top of your updates list you should see the updates automatically appear - if that is not happening, it may be a bug. Let us know and thanks for using Yoono!
A comment on the update "Help us solve your connection problems to your IMs (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Gtalk) or your social networks (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter...)!" in Yoono:
surrealcast - you can always just tell us the problem in a new post here on Get Satisfaction but typically we can't diagnose the problem without getting your log files, which is what the above process allows us to do. We did simplify this process in our latest release (to the steps above) and we'll try to continue to refine it over time. We're a small company trying to do our best - thanks for helping. – Todd Pringle, on September 16, 2009 23:35
Todd Pringle replied on September 16, 2009 18:42 to the question "video share" in Yoono:
Hey Joseph - so just to be clear, you are saying when you share a video to facebook it appears correctly but you can't directly play it on the facebook page unless it is a YouTube video, correct? If you can give us some specific examples of sites you've tried that will help us determine if it is a limitation of the website you are sharing from (some don't allow embedded playback so our hands are tied), Facebook, or Yoono. Thanks!
A comment on the question "Sidebar not showing up." in Yoono:
Ok, thanks for checking Ashley. If you could install our debug build and follow the instructions to send us your log files it would be a big help for us. I'm hoping this will provide us some data that will enable us to diagnose the issue. You can find all the instructions and link to this special build here:
http://getsatisfaction.com/yoono/topi...
I know the post looks like it is about connection issues but following this process will also give us data that should help us with your problem. Appreciate your help - let us know if you have any problems with the process! – Todd Pringle, on September 15, 2009 20:09

A comment on the question "Sidebar not showing up." in Yoono:
You can first check which version of Yoono you are running by going to Tools>Add-ons. The current version of Yoono is 6.2.1. If you are running an earlier version, just click "Find Updates" at the bottom of the add-ons window. If you are running the latest version, let me know and I'd like you to run a special debug build of Yoono that will help us diagnose the problem. – Todd Pringle, on September 15, 2009 18:42

Todd Pringle replied on September 14, 2009 19:10 to the question "Facebook Not Updating in Yoono" in Yoono:
Sorry to hear it hasn't fixed your problem Sherry. I assume you have already tried some of the other suggestions here on Get Satisfaction but in case you have not, here are some things to try:
- Remove authorization for Yoono from Facebook at facebook.com (settings>application settings>authorized), remove Facebook from Yoono (via add social network/IM panel). Re-add Facebook in Yoono.
- Another thing to try if that does not work is to create a new firefox profile, install Yoono on it, add facebook, and see if you still observe the problem (sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupted).
If you try (or have already tried) both of these things and do not see a change, you can help us out by following the instructions here:
http://getsatisfaction.com/yoono/topi...
One other question for you is when you look at your facebook friends list, do you see any that have a strange character in their status? That was one of the issues we fixed but we don't know all the characters that could cause a problem.
Sorry this has not fixed your issue - we really want to solve any and all connection problems and appreciate your help!
Todd Pringle replied on September 14, 2009 18:33 to the question "Facebook Not Updating in Yoono" in Yoono:
We have a new version out (add-on only, desktop coming shortly) that addresses several connectivity issues. It's 6.2.1 and should be available on our website or in the firefox add-ons directory. Please let us know if this resolves the problems you are having. If it doesn't, we'd like to work with you further to help diagnose and fix the problem. Thanks!

Mark and Greg - would either or both of you be willing to try out a test version of Yoono that has some fixes for Facebook connection problems? Email tpringle at yoono dot com if so. Otherwise, this new version should be available next week. If you are still having problems once you've tried it then we'd love to have you run a special build of the product that will help us diagnose the issue.
Todd Pringle replied on September 11, 2009 23:35 to the idea "I have some feedback..." in Yoono:
Great feedback Gankaku! Glad you are enjoying the product. On your points:
* Agreed, ability to adjust font size is something we would like to support. It is very tricky however as it impacts the UI in many places and things have to scale correctly to make it look correct. We are working on it.
* Great idea and should be easy for us to add.
* It's a good idea as well - if there is no comment we could grab the headline and append it.
* Yes! We are actively working on it and hope to have it in an upcoming release that is packed with other cool stuff as well!
