Probably this is potentially a very successful product.
So there are a large number of potential testers.
but the are only so many channels to go round
a large number of beta testers
implies a lot of data to collect
which in turn implies a lot of resources needed to handle the test
we may just haveto be patient and wait.

We are focused on our PC version at the moment so unfortunately it will be a while before our Mac version is out. If signup for an invite at the site and you will be notified. Thanks! – Anand Agarawala, on August 21, 2008 19:27

I have to say that this problem isn't really that big of a concern to me right now because I don't use bump this folder much... Don't really have much use for it. :D Glad to be able to share past experiences though... – Sum1Else, on August 21, 2008 18:11

Hey Sum1Else, I'm really sorry to hear about your experience! That totally does suck and we will look into the "Bump This Folder" delays on Vista. Glad you're still sticking with the beta and thanks for all your great feedback! – Anand Agarawala, on August 21, 2008 18:02

We're in free private beta at the moment, and will likely have a free and paid version when we have a public release. We will work on 64-bit vista as well. – Anand Agarawala, on August 21, 2008 17:59

I would like to inject my own observations here. Once I accidentally clicked the bumptop button in a window. The window went blank and unresponsive. About a minute later, the bumptop shows up, and that begins loading. What is the window doing during the approximate 1 minute freeze? Oh and my accidental click was with 1178 pictures. I was about to give up on testing bumptop. XD – Sum1Else, on August 21, 2008 17:34

I see... we'll look into it. Out of curiosity, how big are these folders you are tyring to Bump? – Anand Agarawala, on August 21, 2008 17:21

no no... 32 bit. Just that it takes a lot of time. (1 - 2 minutes) – Gautham, on August 21, 2008 15:19

Are you on 64-bit Vista? Because at the moment its only supported on 32-bit vista. We will add 64-bit support in an upcoming release. – Anand Agarawala, on August 21, 2008 14:36

We'll try and fix this for next release. Thanks! I'm also curious, do you think you were getting the 'no red x' situation in other ways, ie without typing on the keyboard during fanout? – Anand Agarawala, on August 21, 2008 04:03

I notice that too. Thank you for helping us track down how to reproduce it! You can use either way to submit feedback but the Forum is usually best because other people can learn from your issues, and also help you. – Anand Agarawala, on August 21, 2008 03:59
A comment on the problem "Fan out won't lock/unlock" in BumpTop:
Oh boy... that did it: Start the fan out, press any letter or number on the keyboard to start the search-on-type. Also when pressing DEL and confirm the prompt with No you can not continue the fanout and will not see the red X. (btw. should we use the forum or either more the "send feedback" option or even both? ) – Tazz, on August 21, 2008 01:35
