Zachary Scolaro replied on October 12, 2008 00:46 to the problem "NinjaPimSvc" in Sunbelt Software:
Custom rules can cause problem if the regex engine gets stuck in a loop from it. One thing to look out for is when searching for a * character. Anytime you want to search for the actual * character, use a regex rule. You have to escape each * with a \ but it will treat it as a * and not a wildcard.
To search for ***** the regex rule would be \*\*\*\*\*
For more info on Regular Expressions you can find many good tutorials with a quick search of "Regex Tutorial"'

AndrewR replied on September 30, 2008 00:29 to the question "blocking an email domain with Messaging Ninja" in Sunbelt Software:
I have, since this question, upgraded my exchange to 2007 with server 2008. I have also created the Global AntiSpam rule, as well as duplicating it in the Default AntiSpam policy with the same addresses for the block, and it doesn't seem to be working. People are still getting email from it.
I'm trying to block a certain email/domain from getting to my users, but they still are. I one case, when trying to troubleshoot, I read in the email header that the email passed through because it was in the users "allowed senders" list (or in their contacts, I guess).
This is a global block, so should not matter, correct?
If someone else can confirm that this way to block an email address works?
PS: again, as a work around, I added a transport rule from exchange to deal with this, and it works alright, but I'd rather do it through Ninja.

AndrewR-
We upgraded our servers and created a stretch cluster and for our information store. Then we found that Ninja did not work with Windows 2008/Exchange 2007. So we just started playing with everything. The key is the Test-OutlookWebServices | FL. If you get that to come back with no errors everything starts to work. If you need some help getting some of the problems fix send me some errors and I will see what I can find.
Hope this helps.

A comment on the question "Custom Reports Missing?" in Sunbelt Software:
It is also a feature highlighted in the datasheet that can be downloaded from the VIPRE web page. – Ralph, on September 07, 2008 15:56
A comment on the question "Custom Reports Missing?" in Sunbelt Software:
This is kind of irksome, since it was in a version that i evaluated before purchasing. Although not the main one, this was a factor for me in choosing VIPRE. Also, if you are going to remove a feature you shouldn't advertise it. From the Sunbelt web site under VIPRE Enterprise overview (note the last sentence):
"Flexible Reporting
VIPRE Enterprise's reporting features make it easy for you to schedule and customize its library of reports. A report scheduler allows you to easily schedule any report to run at a designated time with the ability to email reports to specified users; simplifying report distribution to management. Additionally, a custom report editor enables you to modify existing reports or create your own reports."
You should also take it out of the user manual.

Spankey replied on September 04, 2008 19:16 to the question "Exchange 2007 SP1 on Server 2008" in Sunbelt Software:
Ok. I have been able to fix the errors that arose during the Test-OutlookWebServices | FL test. The only error I had was the Autodiscover Service Connection Point (SCP) was pointing to https://machine_name/autodiscover/aut.... So I found a KB article on how to change the SCP from machine_name to mail.company.com so that I could use one SSL certificate. The KB article can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=940726.
Everything is working. Emails are being scored and everything. In evaluation mode.
So I entered in my License Activation Code and now it is not scoring emails anymore. Now I am not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciative.
Zachary Scolaro replied on September 04, 2008 04:13 to the problem "New release of Ninja will start and run on exchange 2007 server but mail flow stops about 20 minutes later" in Sunbelt Software:
To get mail flowing again for now you can temporarily disable Ninja. To do this you need to unregister the transport agents.
-Open the Ninja management console.
-Navigate to Settings->Agents->Transport Agents.
-Click Unregister.
Please email your company and contact information to support@sunbeltsoftware.com. Also include the description of the problem that you posted here. We need to get a support case open so a technician can contact you and get your logs.
