Zachary Scolaro replied on January 14, 2009 22:42 to the question "New Trial will not download update." in Sunbelt Software:
VIPRE Enterprise will make a call to updates.SunbeltSoftware.com on port 80 using SOAP protocol. This call will return a link to ec.SunbeltSoftware.com. The server will then download the file using this link. (Again over port 80).

Zachary Scolaro replied on January 09, 2009 23:25 to the question "Can't logon!! Immediate logoff" in Sunbelt Software:
Stop the agent service.
Delete the scanconfig.xml file. (You'll find this file on the agent machines in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sunbelt\AntiMalware or in Vista - C:\Users\All Users\Application Data\Sunbelt\AntiMalware).
Start the agent service.
If you can't manage the computer remotely, then delete the file and reboot.
Zachary Scolaro replied on January 08, 2009 14:10 to the question "Custom Reports Missing?" in Sunbelt Software:
It was determined that almost all the custom reports we got requests for were not feasible with the current database schema. VIPRE 4.0 is going to move everything to the same database. This will allow for better reporting. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Zachary Scolaro replied on December 02, 2008 15:53 to the question "Problems receiving emails from self" in Sunbelt Software:
The first thing you will need to do is upgrade to 2.1.5586. This newer version fixes the antispoofing feature which is broken on your current build.
Upgrade instructions are on our knowledge base: http://support.sunbeltsoftware.com/De...
Once that is complete you will need to configure antispoofing as recommended here: http://support.sunbeltsoftware.com/De...

Zachary Scolaro replied on November 12, 2008 16:00 to the question "Is starengineservice.exe a Sunbelt process?" in Sunbelt Software:
There a 4 antispam engines available. Many customer only activate the Cloudmark antispam engine. The Star engine loads a large protion of the threat definitions into memory so it can scan the emails faster. If you look at the settings for the Star engine, you can set it to memory optimized. This will greatly reduce the capacity of emails it can process though.

For Spam filtering you need to install Ninja on the Hub Transport server.
Only connection filtering can be done on the edge transport server. If you plan to install Ninja on the Edge Servet you will need to contact support for assistance: Support@SunbeltSoftware.com

Zachary Scolaro replied on October 24, 2008 15:02 to the question "Is Vipre doing anything?" in Sunbelt Software:
The current version has a bug that causes the service to only scan cookies for the network service. This will be fixed in the 3.1.2408 agent which is scheduled for release Oct 29th (next wednesday)
The file system is still being scanned properly.
Please let me know if this answers your question or if there is anything else I can help you with.

Zachary Scolaro replied on October 12, 2008 00:46 to the problem "NinjaPimSvc" in Sunbelt Software:
Custom rules can cause problem if the regex engine gets stuck in a loop from it. One thing to look out for is when searching for a * character. Anytime you want to search for the actual * character, use a regex rule. You have to escape each * with a \ but it will treat it as a * and not a wildcard.
To search for ***** the regex rule would be \*\*\*\*\*
For more info on Regular Expressions you can find many good tutorials with a quick search of "Regex Tutorial"'

Zachary Scolaro replied on September 04, 2008 04:13 to the problem "New release of Ninja will start and run on exchange 2007 server but mail flow stops about 20 minutes later" in Sunbelt Software:
To get mail flowing again for now you can temporarily disable Ninja. To do this you need to unregister the transport agents.
-Open the Ninja management console.
-Navigate to Settings->Agents->Transport Agents.
-Click Unregister.
Please email your company and contact information to support@sunbeltsoftware.com. Also include the description of the problem that you posted here. We need to get a support case open so a technician can contact you and get your logs.
