Thanks for the more detailed information. Did you get any error messages when installing the application? Some people are reporting problems with an XML package that isn't installed on their device.

The Mobile Application Key, which is only 4 characters, should be entered into BlackPing. BlackPing will then translate the mobile application key into the longer application key.

The Mobile Application Key can be found at the bottom of the http://www.ping.fm/key page.

Which version of BlackPing are you running? Version 0.0.4 should work fine when using a service-specific trigger.

If you're typing the trigger name into your post, then the trigger name will be included. The only way to use triggers (custom and service-specific) is to select them from the menu.

BlackPing is not working with BlackBerry Curves running OS 4.5.0.110 and 4.5.0.124.

This issue was originally reported at: http://gsfn.us/t/45ct, but since Ping.fm is not responsible for BlackPing, I've moved it to this forum.

If you have BIS I don't see why you couldn't get to Ping.fm. Simple way to check is to open your BB browser and goto http://www.ping.fm.

Are you using a Data or WiFi connection? If your device is connected to a BES server, does it allow traffic to Ping.FM?

Sorry for the delay is response Charlie. I haven't tested PingFire with Flock and I'm not sure when I can that functionality. If enough people have the same problem, I'll make it high priority.

In the URL field type in "about:config" then filter the results by "pingfire". The value of the "extensions.pingfire.password" preference should be your Ping.fm Application Key. If it is not, it needs to be. You update update it from this screen or by using the PingFire Preferences screen.

If this does not resolve your problem, I recommend upgrading to the latest version since it does handle problems with the Application Key better than the prior version.
