You CAN NOT change your user name. YouTube will not allow you. If you want to have a new name, you must create a new account. This is the ONLY way to "change" your name. – Orin Zebest, on September 30, 2008 11:21

Yeah, Youtube gives a somewhat cop-out answer to this question:

"Currently, you cannot change your username— there is simply too much information tied to each account. You may, however, sign up for a new account with the username that you desire."

Of course, this notion is a little suspicious... unless their databases are organized in a very un-futureproof manner. My guess is that they just don't want loads of people changing them all the time, and/or want to keep the permalinks more perma, so they continue to show up in web search results. Those are both decent reasons, but still... I feel your pain.

Short answer: You can't, well, not in a way I know of, anyway. I signed up ages ago as 'innocentsparkle', but I haven't been able to change it at all, even though I hate my username.
