So right guys, I'm gonna try and do summit about this now! I've been talking to a friend of mine about developing a really simple proof-of-concept thing. Potentiall called Songify because I think someone's already taken Spotbird! :P

Basically, it will be a small media pane with a box to search your libary for an artist. It will then filter your library for that artist and compare the list of tracks and albums with a list from a metadata service (probably musicbrainz?) It will then compile a list of tracks which are on the Musicbrainz list but not in the local library. It will then search spotify for these tracks/albums and where it finds them, generate a link to them in spotify.

So, this does not control spotify or really integrate it, but it will be progress and we can build on it.. Let me know what you think!

So I was thinking, how awesome would it be if you could use Spotify as the lower media pain - then, when you search for an artist in your songbird, a plug-in looks at what you have in your library and then provides you with material by that artist which you currently lack via Spotify.

Why is it not possible to change the order of songs in a playlist. This sould be a basic feature. Or am I missing something?

Why not create a spotify add-on for the open source media player Songbird, that would let premium spotify members play spotify streams in Songbird.

I'd like to be able to play music and podcasts from any source in one media player. Since I cannot play podcasts, search through mp3-blogs, scrobble last-fm etc with Spotify, and since not all music is available, it cannot replace my ordinary music player.
