Thanks so much for the great advice...i dropped my ipod in a port-a-loo..long story! Anyway managed to retrieve it!!! It was on when it was dunked but switched off not long after! I though that was it but took it apart and cleaned it in distilled water and then 99% ethanol and then it dry overnight in a bag of rice. Put it back together and although the screen needed replacing the ipod works perfectly (at the moment)....
