A comment on the question ""Shutdown Vipre" only available in consumer version?" in Sunbelt Software:
Nope, not shut down the comptuer. (Does anyone actually use that?) "Shutdown Vipre" is a specific option on the context menu of the tray icon that completely removes all Vipre components from memory. – zParticle, on April 14, 2009 16:15

"Shutdown Vipre" only available in consumer version? In Vipre Enterprise, is there a way to allow a complete agent shutdown like users can with the consumer version? I realize this inhibits the ability to manage it centrally, but I can have it redeploy at night if the user forgets to restart it.
Being able to completely remove Vipre from memory when desired was one of Vipre's big selling points when I first started testing it, and I don't want to take this option away when upgrading users to the Enterprise version.
Thanks.
By the way, I've already scanned the recommended ListServ for Vipre Enterprise (which for some reason is still called CSE when I access the archives via that horrendous Lyris Listmanager front end). The web interface here is much more usable.-

Feature request: Show more detail on the scan progress screenOk, I can't be the only one who's impatient for a 3-hour scan to complete just so I can find out where on my drive this allegedly evil bit of code is sitting. Don't keep us in suspense!
Ideally, I'd like to see a details pane that appears below the identified risks pane when you click on a particular risk while the scanner is running, similar to the list of traces shown when you click the Details button on the scan results screen. It would update the list as more traces of the same risk are found.
(If this would slow the scanner down, make it optional! A simple approach would be a toggle like the Hide Details button which currently toggles display of the file being scanned.)
Thanks for considering this!

Excluding FILES from scan results page? From the scan results page, is there a way to exclude items by FILE rather than by RISK? If I just mark the item "allow" it leaves it alone but shows up again on the next scan.
I can "always allow" the Risk category from there, but if I want to exclude only this particular instance, I have to manually add the exact path to the Always Allowed list. That's a pain and kind of non-intuitive. It would seem safer to exclude one instance than an entire Risk category, but I don't appear to have that option in this context.

Mike,
I've seen this issue you mention on three machines, and it seems to be those with a very large number of drives/files. Deep scan runs and seems get hung up at the same place each time, with the timer stuck and no filename showing. I can do a custom scan one drive at a time and it works okay. This is with the latest build (3.1.2710).
I'm a big NOD32 fan too, but I've started offering Vipre to clients instead, since the spyware cleanup seems more capable, and I do a LOT of spyware cleanup. There's just less manual cleanup required once Vipre's had a go at it. Vipre's interface is more novice-friendly, too. Though it's not quite as speedy as the ESET products, Vipre's a close enough second to justify the tradeoff.
