Hi Joris,
CPU utilization may be high during the analysis. Did you notice the problem after the analysis is finished as well?
In general, we recommend 4 GB memory for development machines. The slow-down probably happens because your RAM is maxed and the machine is busy swapping.
Nevertheless, we are working on performance improvements for next releases, so stay tuned.

Nice idea. We will consider it for future releases. – zvikico, on October 29, 2009 10:01

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. We are working on performance improvements for the next release, so I'll ping you once we have a better version.
WRT the "default enable": this can be changed in the welcome dialog box which you get the first time you install nWire (it will show only once if you dismiss it). You can also change the default from the preferences dialog box.
We started out with "manual enable". However, we had many users that tried nWire and didn't understand why it wasn't doing anything. People don't like reading manuals or even welcome dialog boxes (myself included :-), so we had to provide a very simple default that will "just work".
Once you understand nWire and how it works, you start fiddling around with the settings and make it work the way that fits your needs.

Hi Sergio,
Please try the following:
1. Close Eclipse.
2. Delete all your nWire license files - under your Eclipse folder you will find configuration/com.nwiresoftware.nwire folder. Delete it.
3. Start Eclipse again - the dialog box will open and you'll be able to activate nWire with your license key.
Let me know if this works OK.
Thanks,

Is it possible to route calls based on working hours?I'm considering your product as a telephone for customer service. Is it possible to define time-based forwarding rules? I would like the calls to be routed to my office phone on my business hours and to a voice mail otherwise.
Thanks,

Hi Erik,
We has some issues with previous versions of our nWire for PHP beta. Please make sure you are using the latest version. We also expect to solve some more issues before the final release.
Nevertheless, this could be a RAM issue. nWire analysis is performed in a lower priority process and should not interfere with your work.
Please check the heap status (open the preferences and on the first page called "General" there's an option to "Show Heap Status"). nWire adds some memory consumption to your Eclipse instance, and, if you have a very large project, it may max out the RAM. In that case, it is advisable to add more heap space to your Eclipse instance.
Cheers,
Zviki

It's an interesting idea, but that's not possible at the moment.
In general, nWire takes a "zero effort" approach, which means you do not need to configure or teach it anything. You just install and use it. I would like to provide a solution without making you go through any hoops.
We will consider a solution for future versions. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Alan,
nWire uses the <any class> notation when it simply cannot resolve the class when accessing a method or field. This is usually due to the loosely typed nature oh PHP. Each "any class" component will have an association to "potential overrides" which are fields or methods which may be the correct implementation. This can be visualized, too.
Does this answer your question?

zvikico replied on July 17, 2009 08:09 to the problem "Can't get nWire to DO anything..." in nWire Software Ltd.:
The reason no analysis takes place is because you have no defined source folders. nWire follows the standard project structure which is being used by Eclipse. This means the sources must be in a folder defined as a source folder. You will notice that the file icon for your files is an outline J, unlike regular sources which get a full J icon.

To define a folder as a "source folder", use the project build path configuration (under project properties).
At this time, nWire is limited to analyzing Java code in source folders only. Several users requested a more flexible option and we may support it in the future.

Hi Kevin,
Please perform the following checks:
1. Open the navigator, there should be some help text (starting with "The navigator presents components and their associations". If you don't see that message, nWire was not properly installed and activated.
2. Right click on your project in the Package explorer, there should be an "nWire Tools" menu.
3. In this menu, make sure the option is "Remove nWire Support" (which indicates nWire is enabled for the project)
4. Select the "Reset Model" option.
Let me know if it works.

A comment on the idea "Create transactional campaigns from the web UI" in MailChimp:
Getting the content and replicating it can be error prone, as the data travels through. It would be nice to have an API to convert the campaign. – zvikico, on April 16, 2009 05:24
