optimizing photos - zencart shop
You will always want to be sure that you can resize your original pictures down to a manageable size before uploading to the web.
MS Paint is very simple to use and you’ll have it on your pc.
Some points to note:
1. All of the product photos are now resized to a particular pixel width. (but don’t have to be that exact size necessarily) Where that comes into play is when you click on the ‘enlarge image’ link on the product photos pages. That image is shown exactly how it is uploaded to the web so it can’t be too big.
2. Obviously all of the photo thumbnails are auto-resized, from the original picture uploaded.
3. FYI optimizing photos by resizing is also important to save on disk space. No need to upload pics that are too big to take up unnecessary resources.
