The chat would benefit from nickname completion in the style of IRC clients.
With nickname completion you write the first letters of someone's nickname and then hit Tab to have the client complete the name for you.
You save time and the people you are talking to hear the "alert" sound which is played when someone says their exact nickname.

Inappropriate?we'd like to do something like this, but probably with an automatic prompt instead of just tab, since tab is a bit obscure for people without irc experience [most photophlow users]
