I have a Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz running OS X 10.5.7 I've been running Flickr uploader 3.0.5 with no problems, it will authenticate my Flickr account
I want to upload to Flickr, using geotags.
So, I downloaded Picturesync, fired it up, & tried to authenticate Flickr via my browser. In the browser (Flickr website), I clicked on the option ("from Picture sync application"), then the next page gave a warning in RED:
=====
Important: This authorization request may be suspicious. It looks like it's coming from a Desktop application, but is trying to authorize you from a website. Please make sure you trust this application before authorizing it.
=====
I clicked authorize, then the next page (failure):
=====
Oops! The API key or signature is invalid.
An external application has requested your login credentials and permission to perform certain actions on your behalf, but has failed to include all the required data.
You don't really need to know what this means, except that you can't use the application until this problem is fixed. (It's a third-party problem, not a Flickr problem.)

This forum has complaints about Flickr & Webshots: authentication errors & failed uploads
I tried the following:
===
Please choose Help>Check for Updates and then relaunch PictureSync.
====
I got an error "Unable to check for update".."the server has a temporary fault, try again later"
I tried full reset of Picturesync, restarted..same result.
Flickr says it's a 3rd party issue (Picturesync). But, there is the claim that it is an issue on Webshots end.. ??
Can I get a solution asap? I'm leaving for China in 2 weeks, & need to geotag my photos.
I downloaded PictureSync from a Webshots ad. PictureSync installed fine but will not authenticate with my webshots account info. I have verified account info is valid.
The Topic "Authentication error" still exists guy's.. API ??? everything works except Picturesync to webshots which still returns (authentication failed) but the account is verified
I paid $20 to download from Webshots, but then realized that PictureSync doesn't work with webshots even though it advertises Webshots like it does.
How do I get my money back?
And how do I download from Webshots?
I am using PictureSync for turning iPhoto tags into IPTC/XMP keywords. (I know, this is not its main purpose, but I did not find any other program for the Mac that does this job.)
Since a while, when I start PS, the application does not respond for a long time and then displays this error message:
System Events got an error: AppleEvent timed out. (-1712)
After another delay, it then displays:
Can’t get «class defE» "id" of «class useD». (-1728)
Now the menu bar is active; however, when I try doing something useful, I only get more AppleScript errors. For example,
PictureSync > About PictureSync:
Can’t get «class defE» "skip" of «class useD». (-1728)
File > Open Selected:
"" doesn’t understand the prep message. (-1708)
PictureSync > Preferences > Save:
missing value doesn’t understand the itemOfList message. (-1708)
I checked the Known Bugs section and ensured that nothing of the listed issues applies (ie, I have no SIMBL installed, I use no multibyte language, I have no old preferences in ~/Library/Preferences/com.holocore.PictureSync.plist (this file actually does not exist).
I also tried to fix this by reinstalling PS from a freshly downloaded dmg but to no avail.
I've tried to add coordinates by copy/pasting from the "get info" window of a Google Earth map pin marker to the lat/lon boxes in PictureSync. First there is an Applescript error and then the coordinates disappear. If I switch to another picture and back again, only the longitude remains and it has been altered to something unrecognizable. Also, "Get location from Google Earth" does nothing for the picture I have tried to geotag nor for others that I haven't touched yet.
I have tried ordinary coordinates (DMS) and decimal coordinates, with the same result.
I have the latest version of both applications.
Any suggestions?
Intel Macbook Pro core 2 Duo running Mac OSX10.5.6
I am trying to login and upload to Facebook using PictureSync and keep getting the Apple Script Error, "Can't get item 1 of {}. (-1728)". When uploading it appears to be working fine until the end it says Transfer Failed and zero pictures are posted. Please help! I am still suck using 10.3.9 ): However, I chose PictureSync because it is one of the few that should work with my old OS. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!
I try to authorize with pixelpipe but after having said it's OK for PictureSync to access pixelpipe I get an error message that says "Can't get item 1 of "". (-1728)" when I click the button to continue.
I've been trying to get PictureSync interfacing properly with WebShots, but am finding that comma-separated Keywords are not showing up as Tags although photos are uploading properly and photo titles and descriptions are transferring.
Any assistance you could provide would be much appreciated.
I've been using PictureSync for a while to upload from iPhoto to Gallery 2. Suddenly it's telling me that my Gallery 2 account is "not configured" and the upload is failing for lack of permissions. I don't remember changing anything. What could I be doing wrong?
I am working on a Mac with iPhoto and have a Wordpress blog. It would be great to be able to upload directly from iPhoto to WP and/or NextGen, the WP gallery plugin! I know that there are many more users of WP and iPhoto looking for this. There used to be 2 uploaders, but none of them work with iLife '08 or higher and both have discontinued upgrading:-(
Upon completion of updating annotations with a flickr account (i.e. re-uploading the same set of photos, all of which are online already, but having changed the annotations) an error message is displayed, stating that the upload failed, even though all of the annotations have been successfully updated.
On Build 16, I load in a batch (35 photos in this case), order it by date, reverse the order, select the first one, hit "Command+0" for fullscreen editing, type in some details, advance through a few pictures. Now when I exit fullscreen annotation editing with escape, I see the metadata is applied to the wrong photos. I close Picturesync, and re-add the photos, and verify that the metadata is incorrectly applied to the wrong photos, it is not a specific pattern, but it appears to be "off by one" for my last couple of edits. I consider this a very serious error. Fortunately I have not annotated many photos, so I can manually make the changes.
I encounter the above error when updating the incorrectly annotated photo.
I get an error whenever an annotation contains a single-quote character ('), about it being unable to convert to an integer. Is there an appropriate way to escape single quotes (for use in contractions), or could that escape be applied automatically?
My original mac was the last of the Power PC Minis. Now my new iMac (Intel) running 10.5.6 won't send batch uploads to you. I have re activated my Pro license, but in one window it still says expired (I use it w/webshots.)
It will not upload, and I keep getting a weird applescript message.
Do I need to upgrade to a newer version?
