$title copied to Flickr description, not just title
Here's something that some may consider a feature, but it strikes me as unexpected behaviour with no workaround I've found.
Setup:
PictureSync (v1.8 Release 16 on OS X 10.5) opens photos selected in iView MediaPro, then uploads them to my Flickr account.
Expected behaviour:
I'm uploading a set of photos and have given them all a Headline ($title). I don't have anything further to say, so I haven't added a Description ($caption) to these photos. My expectation is that PictureSync will upload the photos to Flickr and that they'll be displayed with a title and a blank description.
Actual behaviour:
Photos appear on Flickr with the $title duplicated, appearing in both the title and description. Just to be clear, the Caption field in the PictureSync Show Information drawer is blank, but the Flickr description is populated with the Title.
Is this being caused by PictureSync or by Flickr? And is there any way I can supress the duplication?

Inappropriate? This is actually an undesirable quirk of Flickr and not a problem with PictureSync. Please feel free to take this issue up with them though! Specifically: they wrongly use embedded IPTC Headline as Caption when the upload client already has specified a value for Title.
There are workarounds but none perfect:
1. Don't embed annotations before upload (from either IVMP/xMedia or in PictureSync).
2. Have PictureSync remove the embedded annotations on upload (EXIF will still be persevered!).
3. Add a space to the caption (you can do this in the settings (i.e. "$caption " instead of "$caption").

Inappropriate? Thanks for an excellent reply. I had wondered if it was a Flickr thing, but had not guessed that it would be the embedded IPTC data influencing the behaviour.
