"Custom" widget type for programming-savvy people?
How about adding a "custom" widget type with a published web-based API (maybe based on XML-RPC or something similar), which people could use to track their own personal stats, like downloads of specific files on their own website or whatever.
In Ego.app, you'd just set a name for the widget (e.g. "My cool statistic") an URL pointing to the script on your server which implements this web-based API and optionally a password to protect this script.
I think this would be a really awesome feature for some people (me included, of course) and might even lead to people starting to exchange custom scripts on their blogs and spreading the word about Ego.app by doing so ;-)

Inappropriate?Awesome, I'm looking forward to it very much! As a little side-idea, it would be great if the API also let me specify the color of the custom widget, so that I can use different colors for different custom information widgets. Maybe as a hex color string sent by the server-side script.
Btw, Ego is a beautifully crafted and excellent app - It's truly a pity that some people go completely bonkers due to Google Analytics shutting you out, and I sincerely hope that Ego gets the praise it deserves when 1.3 comes out!
