Corrupt/incomplete images triggering ping.fm updates
I noticed while on a recent trip that my images were often being corrupted or otherwise uploaded incompletely to ping.fm, but still triggering repeated bad posts (1 failed upload would often result in numerous bad posts being sent, like it was stuck in some sort of temporary loop). I'd get the error about the update failing, but it would continue to trigger the posts w/links to the corrupted ping.fm photos (anywhere from a completely blank image to 50% or so). Internet coverage was somewhat spotty so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it, but I was able to use the ping.fm email gateway instead without any problems.
I'm curious if it has something to do with the way email is sent vs uploading via the ping.fm api, but thought I'd pass it along to see if you had any ideas on how to fix the problem.
If it's possible, I'd rather have pingdroid fail completely on the update if it notices a corrupt upload somehow, rather than attempt to complete the update.
Thanks!

Ryan,
Like Sean mentioned, the photo posting issue you experienced this weekend was temporary and is now resolved.
Regarding the issue with Pingdroid sometimes posting broken images, that is a fix that is included in the upcoming cupcake release of Pingdroid. We are in the final stages of testing and are including a feature of the Ping.fm api that will hopefully fix once and for all the image posting issue with Pingdroid.
Thanks for your patience!
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate? This is a known issue that we have been working to fix. We are hoping to get it resolved in the next version.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
I’m not happy about this bug.

Any news on this issue? -
The release for this fix is near completion. It includes cupcake related features and is still in testing. Almost there...thank you for being patient. -
Picture uploads are still only a sliver of the pic, am I missing something or has the fix not been released yet? Best regards Johnnie -
Inappropriate? No worries :) Looking forward to the fix! Wasn't sure if it fell under the umbrella of some of the previous issues mentioned here with image uploads.
Thanks again!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I'm having a similar issue with mine as well. When I try to post microblogs from my G1, the text will post to all of my social media sites, and it will generate a ping.fm link for my photo. However, the photo doesn't appear to have uploaded when I go to the ping.fm site. Have a look:
http://ping.fm/p/a20Vr
As you can see, there is a direct link field, there's only a '1' present. Additionally, I tried to email a photo to my ping.fm address with the same result. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Cheers

Additionally, photos aren't posting to myspace/flickr/bebo/twitter as well. Harrumph. -
Photo posting was borked for the weekend. Had some hardware issues that were resolved early this morning. You shouldn't be seeing photo problems anymore. -
