"greater than" sign in password
having a "greater than" sign in a password causes authentication to fail. i would imagine a "less than" sign would do the same but didn't test that.

Inappropriate?a ping.fm password?

Inappropriate?sorry i wasn't clear. in my particular case it was my delicious password.

Inappropriate?can i get an update on this issue? i see you recently rolled out some updates to ping.fm--is this fix in there?

Inappropriate?i tried this again today for giggles and i still have the same issue. however, i tried a few different characters in my password and the greater than sign does not seem to be the entire problem. my password also has a double quote in it which i believe is where the problem really is. if i remove the double quote from my password and then submit, i don't get the weirdness of my password spilling outside of the password box but i do rightfully get an authentication failure.
my guess is that the input value gets closed out with my double quote, then the input tag gets closed out with a greater than sign.
to test this, try using a password like this: abcd">efgh
you'll see the following fragment outside the password box and just in the html:
efgh" />
i'd really hate to change my delicious password to get this to work because i use passwordmaker's default settings which generate the password for me based on the url of the site.
