Inappropriate?Adium supports all the major instant messengers. For instance, I use the pingfm AIMbot (obviously, through the AIM network) to send status updates to ping.fm. Works fine for me. Ping.fm doesn't care which client you use, you just have to be connected to the instant messenger networks it supports.

Inappropriate?Hi, sorry that I was too brief in my initial question - it was not about the AIM support (I figured that one out), but more about the fact that Twitterific for example can also update the messenger client status, in this case Adium, automatically. Not sure if that will ever be possible with Ping.fm. -
Inappropriate?As Twitterrific is a desktop client is can reach out to Adium on the same machine and update status. As Ping.fm is web only it cannot update your local client.
When someone creates a Mac client for Ping.fm then it should be possible . There is a published API and some C#/.NET examples so it can be done.
