AIR Application? External posting method..
Would be great if I had the opportunity to post/update ping.fm from a program, e.g. an AIR application. It would make the process of posting content much easier, not that it is difficult now, but the whole thing about entering a website with your login, and stay logged in there etc.
Right now I'm using Twhirl to update my twitter, and it actually keeps me from posting to ping instead...

Inappropriate? Why does it need to be AIR? There are plenty of languages that you could use to create such a program.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?air because it is lightweight is the only reason i can think of. doesnt really need to be that complex. just need some kinf of app or widget i think.

Inappropriate?I currently am making two different types of widget for ping.fm ones a desktop widget, the other is a Google desktop widget. The adobe air widget is currently in beta 2.1(closed beta), and the Google desktop widget is in alpha 1.3 (not ready for even closed beta yet) . As of right now I am currently the adobe air widget is in a closed beta but people can use it if they get an invite sent to them, the Google desktop widget though is not ready for even a closed beta its too early in development. For more info on these widget and how to get a download you can go to http://www.anthonykosednar.com/drupal... though. Hope this solves the ping.fm desktop integration problem!!
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Ya the adobe air desktop widget i made is done and can be downlaoded at http://anthonykosednar.com/pingfm but you have to get your beta code approved first but I approve beta's daily and there is no speacial configuration needed you just make your account install and then it works no more having to edit the widget's files.

Thank's Anthony. I started using it, but there's a problem. It won't move on the screen. That's kind of annoying, but otherwise good stuff. -
Inappropriate? Finally, I looked at a couple other threads and Spaz does the job. Thanks.

Inappropriate? An AIR app would be very helpful to me as I'm on a mac at work and a PC at home.
Also, how does this work in Spaz? I really like Twhirl and don't really want to change just to get ping.fm integration, but would consider it.
I’m anxious

The not being able to move the widget bug will be fixed in the next version coming out in 3 days -
Sweet! I've also been running into a problem where it inserts a "\" after certain characters. -
Which characters because I use the php strip slashes call so I shouldn't do that. Oh and te next version of the widget with the movability fix I made a test build right now for it and its working pretty good. My update system im the current widget just doesn't detect it though so I might need to do some changes (I think its because I designed the old version of my windows box and this new one on my mac, so the encryption file builder thingy for the packaging of air see them as two separate apps or something like that.) There is no bugs with it though so if you want I can post the link to it. The only problem is, at this point you will have to uninstall the previous widget before installing this one) -
I'ts doing it next to the apostrophe and quotation mark characters.
I can wait for the newer version, I may not be on that computer for a couple days, but thanks man! -
I'll test that and try to fix this slash problem. (If you have any more information about it, for example which network you posted it to that would help me debug a lot).
Other than that I will have a new version available in 1-2 days and will have the moving around problem solved and hopefully this slash problem. When the new version is ready you should be redirected to a different page at the login page that says there is a new version and such and such. -
Inappropriate?Hey guys,
Here's one Ping Adobe Air app you might want to check out. Been using is since yesterday and it works great. Only problem is that the UI isn't very appealing, but hey.
