Inappropriate?Try posting through the Dashboard. We have unicode support, but some e-mail systems convolute the messages if they are unicode and we get really jacked up messages.
-
Inappropriate?Hello Sean.
I tried with the Dashboard, that worked fine.
But email post from my mobile phone was garbled.
Do you have a plan to support charset "iso-2022-jp"?
Thank you -
Inappropriate?Would be a shame if I couldn't use Japanese via email. Internationalization should be default.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Yeah, I'm in Japan at the moment, and being able to mail in updates from my keitai would make life a ton easier. Any suggestions?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?As, TSURU-san mentioned briefly,
most, if not all, Japanese mobile phones send emails in iso-2022-jp.
It's frustrating that the Japanese mobile phones probably wont get it's basic functionality updated.
It would be great if ping.fm would check the incoming mail encodings, and convert it.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?never mind.
the problem doesn't only seem to be mobile phones sending in iso-2022-jp.
I tried sending email with utf-8 from my computer, but it still didn't function correctly.
the interesting is that i've sent email with a photo, and the ping.fm media and the flickr displays the japanese correctly.
any thoughts?
these are from the same email

I’m puzzled.

Inappropriate? If you are sending from an iPhone, it will probably still be garbled as the units encode things all mysteriously with no way to prevent it.
-
Still get garbled text when sending from a standard japanese cell phone as a keitai mail. Comes out messed up across all services. -
Can you set the encoding to UTF8? -
Inappropriate?still doesn't work for me.
i have a regular Japanese phone.
most Japanese mails are sent by iso-2022-jp still.
probably it is set to send in iso-2022-jp on the iPhone as well, to be compatible with the rest of the mail clients (especially other Japanese cell phones.)
it would be great if you could create some kind of filter for this.
thanks -
Inappropriate?I posted in Japanese from Gmail and it came through as mojibake in Twitter
I’m going to check out HelloTxt Japanese support
-
Inappropriate?I tried HelloTxt and Twittermail as well. They both have the same problem. Is this some problem at Twitter's side?
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?I found a solution. Posting to FriendFeed and getting FriendFeed to post to Twitter works. HelloTxt say they are working on a solution: http://twitter.com/htxt/statuses/1456...
I’m a little bit better
