Can't get Custom URLs to post to WordPress blog.
Maybe a stupid question, but what email address do I use when editing the Custom URL? I've got a few - one email that is connected to my user account to log in to Ping.fm, one that I send emails to at Ping.fm to post messages, and one that is the admin email for the WordPress install I have. I can't get the Custom URL to work w/ my WordPress blog and I'm wondering if that's the problem. All I edited was the email section of the sample code... I didn't get any further than that yet.

Inappropriate?I'd start by reading this: http://ping.fm/custom/help/
Custom URL is not an e-mail address, it's a webpage that someone has made specifically to receive ping.fm messages.
If you are trying to get it to work with wordpress.com, we have that on the list of supported social networks. If you are trying to use with wordpress.org, there is a plugin located at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/p...

Adam, I read the help... and, perhaps its the fact I'm not a web developer... more of a HTML hack, that I didn't understand it very well. See the reply I made to the original question for more details. Hopefully I was more clear. Thanks! -
Inappropriate?And... if you want to go the other way (Ping.fm to self-hosted WordPress blog), I just finished my plugin today and it'll be ready soon.
Was that shameless self-promotion? Sure, but I have no shame.

Inappropriate?Nothing wrong with self-promotion. Let me know when you get it done and I'll test it out and possibly feature it.

Inappropriate?I reread what I typed and realized I should have asked the question a little differently. I've uploaded the sample code, used my email address/username for ping.fm. I get the email saying I've posted a new entry to my self-hosted WordPress blog - and I get the email "confirmation" but I wanted to know if that was, somehow, tied to something within the blog I host or ping.fm. Because the sample code - after only editing the email address - doesn't seem to be getting any of my ping.fm updates.

Inappropriate? The custom url example is not related to wordpress, it just sends an email. It looks like Matt Jacob is making a custom url for wordpress. You might hit him up for some help.

Inappropriate?Adam speaks the truth. I'm just waiting for the WP people to approve my request for SVN space so that I can host my plugin on wordpress.com. But actually, I could use some help testing the plugin on different configurations before letting it loose. You can see it in action at mattjacob.com (check out the top of the sidebar for my 7 latest Ping.fm status updates).
If that's what you're trying to do, email me at matt [symbol] mattjacob.com and we'll be in touch. :-) -
Inappropriate? Finally got approved and got my code added to the WordPress SVN repo! It took long enough, but hopefully it was worth the wait. Check it out at:
