Inappropriate? When you enter a custom url, ping.fm validates the url even exists. It is only checking that it does not get an http error response, such as a 403, 404, etc. As long as you enter an accessible url, ping.fm should let you save it. You might also want to make sure you have the http:// on front.

Inappropriate?I still have the tab up from ping.fm, and here's the exact URL I pasted in:
http://alpha.ourdoings.com/tobedelete...
I paste it into Firefox's address bar and get an empty page. -
Inappropriate?I am no longer getting the error message. Instead, I do an update with no errors, but see no update.
I put a form on this page with title and message parameters, and it works. Isn't that exactly how ping.fm works?

Inappropriate?I did some more debugging. The "m" parameter is being stripped. Sounds like I might need to make the personal identifier not be a URL parameter, but just a regular URL segment.

Inappropriate?My custom URL ends with
ping.fm?m=sometoken
When ping.fm posts, its POST parameters (method, title, message) go through, but the GET parameter m, that I rely on for authentication, is stripped.
I can work around this by changing the custom URL to end with
sometoken.ping -
Inappropriate?Oh ok I see. Let me test.
-
Inappropriate?I just tested with my own script with GET variables. They are posted as expected. Make sure your HTML handlers are being processed and what-not. It's working as it's supposed to.
-
Inappropriate?I did test my handlers: I made a form with pingfm.html?m=sometoken as the action and POST as the method. It got everything.
But this is just FYI. I'll have a version working soon that doesn't depend on GET parameters. -
Inappropriate?OK, it works now. As soon as I add UI to let people turn ping.fm integration back off, I'll roll it out to production.
I don't get why Zooomr didn't want ping.fm integration. -
Inappropriate?Coolness. Integration is in production. Can't wait 'til photos work too.

I’m happy
