Inappropriate? There have been quite a few applications made for this but I only see one in the public gallery. http://ping.fm/apps/114/terminal-pings/

Inappropriate?I've written a quick batch file that will allow you to ping from a Windows command prompt, but you need to install cURL for Windows in order for it to work:
cURL for Windows: http://curl.haxx.se/download.html
ping.fm.bat: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2805395/pingf...
You need to edit the batch file and add your app key for it to work. Run it from a command prompt with no arguments and without editing it for more info.
If you want to be able to run it from anywhere, copy it to your C:\Windows\System32\ folder, and you'll be able to run it as
pingfm status update
Also, the post method is set to default out of the box, you can edit this by changing the line 'set post_method="default"' to say "status" or whatever you need. I'm not sure of the requirements for blog posts, but I'm fairly sure that they would be constructed differently in cURL and require more work.
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Just an update for that - cURL for Windows doesn't currently work in Windows 7, so in turn, this won't run in Windows 7.
I’m sad
