Joomla extensions for Ping.fm
In the blog, you mention you are developing some Wordpress plugins. I've been creating a couple of Joomla extensions to receive & display messages from Ping.fm.
I wondered if you'd be interested in making these available to your customers when they are ready? Basically, I have a component that receives ping's (when set up as a CustomURL) and stores them in the database, and a module that can then display the latest n pings.
Just thought I'd mention it as I noticed your mention of the wordpress plug-in, and I guess this is along the same lines.
Regards

Inappropriate?I would include them on the developer forum as well as put some tweets out about them if you want.

Inappropriate? Thanks Sean. I'll post when the component/modules are done. I'm just testing now.

Inappropriate?Hey Sean, I think the first attempt at a Joomla 1.5 component is pretty much ready. It works anyway :) Just have to get a few people to try it and see what feedback I get. It's pretty simple really.. receives pings, puts them in database, displays on a page! If you get a moment, visit www.nicktexidor.com and click on the 'What Am I Doing" link. This page has two uses. It is the page that I add into Custom URL, as well as displaying the pings. The module on the left is part of the same 'package' and can be set to display any number of pings.
I'll get them tidied up and uploaded to the joomla extension directory. I also need to do a bit more testing as I noticed Ping's stopped coming through for a while this evening. Removing the Custom URL and re-adding it fixed the problem.
Thanks
Nick
I’m still exicted!

Inappropriate?Hi Sean,
I've just made the initial release of JoomPing available for download from my site (www.nicktexidor.com) via the Joomla Extensions page.
I'm still getting around coding for Joomla, this is my first component, but it seems to work ok for me.
Hopefully this'll add a couple more potential users to your system.
Regards
Nick
I’m ready to go for a kip!

Inappropriate?I'm sorry.. I only really started developing for J1.5, and haven't looked into J1.0. If I get a bit of time, I'll see whether it's possible to make it work under 1.0.

Inappropriate?Hi,
the other way round would be interesting: sending new Joomla-articles to ping.fm!
best regards,
Ricardo Cristof
