Message truncated after (and including) a double dash (--)
I tried to post the following:
says, "Life is complicated--clearly the solution is a mocha."
and the message was truncated after complicated. The "--" and everything following it was not in the message posted to both facebook and twitter.

Inappropriate?A double dash in a message is assumed an e-mail signature. Try using a single dash.

That's a little bit odd, but I understand what you're trying to avoid. Shouldn't you only assume it's an email signature if it's "\n-- \n" ?
Also, it seems like you ought to avoid stripping out what's thought to be an email signature if the user is posting the update from the web or IM (which is what I was doing). -
Inappropriate?Ping.fm has corrected this by adding ---- before your signature to strip the rest out.
I’m happy
