Pictures not showing anywhere

I tried uploading some pictures by sending a picture message to the email address I use. The text of the ping shows up fine, but the image is nowhere to be found when following the links. When I look at the "My Media" page, I am seeing two red "X" placeholders where the images should be. Is there some known problem with the image service being worked on? I did not have a username set at the time I uploaded the pictues. I just set it today when I went to "My Media" and saw that I needed one set.
