Title^Description not working when e-mailing photos to @fl
When I publish photos to Filckr using my Ping.fm e-mail address, the separation of title and description doesn't transfer to Flickr. For example:
E-mailing:
@fl Lorem Ipsum Title^Lorem Ipsum Description @t lorem ipsum
Renders:
Lorem Ipsum Title^Lorem Ipsum Description
[Photo]
Posted by Ping.fm
Tags: lorem ipsum
Also, related to the international character decoding issue, if I put for example åäö in the title/description string, the characters will be scrambled on Flickr.
I've tried using my SE G900 and Outlook 2007 (with UTF-8 encoding of outgoing messages).

Great! Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Yeah, I came to post about this issue. You can see a live example here:

http://ping.fm/p/YE7ds
The exact e-mail I sent except for the parts in bold text:
Subject:
Test A^Test B@t Test C, Test D
Message:
Test E^Test F@t Test G, Test H
At least the tags transferred perfectly. Speaking of which it would be nice if there were an option to assign some tags by default like "moblog."
Also, I sent my e-mail via Blackberry. Could that have something to do with how the "^" was generated?
Great product, looking forward to seeing it get better. ^___^
I’m I like ping.fm!

Thanks for sharing your experience! Hope this will gain some attention, because it's a great feature that is useless in its current state. -
Inappropriate? What's useless exactly? Like, it works GREAT when blog posting. It's perfect, I hashed that out with them like two months ago.
The photo posting via ping.fm I only started this morning. It didn't make sense for me to be using twitpic when I had a flickr and ping.fm account.
Also, they need to fix where status links point to that ping.fm page instead of your flickr page. -
Ok, maybe useless is a strong word :) To be more specific, I meant the photo posting feature when posting to Flickr (it's the only photo sharing site I use, so I don't know if it works on other sites). It seems to work when posting to blogs, but being unable to post a photo to a photo sharing site like Flickr is a big disadvantage when you're pushing content to several social networking sites simultaneously. -
Inappropriate? It works but not in the way everyone expects. People would ditch flickr to twitter ( http://blog.flickr.net/en/2009/06/30/twitter-your-flickr/ )in a heartbeat if pingfm worked the way we are describing.
Right now a lot of people use Yahoo pipes and twitterfeed but imagine if they (we) were able to cut the middleMEN and post instantly AND have people on different social networks view the flickr page?
No contest.
But actually I think you and I should use flickr to twitter until they fix this. At the very least it's better than twitpic because the image is saved to twitter and it also links back to twitter. -
Looks like it's working now for Photobucket through the API, thanks!
