send email. allow ping.fm to be able to send email, sms, to multiple parties. (kinda like to use ping.fm to notify people of things but not all may be on the 'social networks'. I'd suggest some kind of subscription to prevent spamming of email addresses. would also allow the updating of 'mailing lists'
