Why does Ping.Fm steal the photographer credit when photo posting to flickr?
"Posted BY Ping.fm" as the Flickr description? No, that can't be right. Ping,.fm didn't take that photo, I did!
And on the subject why do the photo posts on Twitter, MySpace and other such places link to ping.fm instead of my flickr page?
Also the subject & body separation is busted. Using "^" will not do anything like it does with the blog posting. Was this an oversight or intentional?
Yeah, the "Posted by Ping.fm" really bothers me.
I think what I'll do is use Flickr to Twitter and MySpace Mobile until it's fixed. At least that way the mobile photos are posted as they were intended. It means I'll have to send the photos to two e-mail address instead of one but in a way I think it's worth it.
At first I thought Ping.fm was better than using twitpic but now I think it's a lateral move. It wouldn't be so bad if the ping.fm photo page wasn't so devoid of interaction. There's not even a twitter function. And if there is how is anyone supposed to figure that out?
The photo tagging workings great though. (@t). Not sure if Flickr or MySpace support this but I'm willing to risk it.
At least the status and micro-blogging stuff.
I hope it gets fixed but if it doesn't there are enough alternatives I'm will ing to put up with. It would be neat if all my twitter status updates said "Ping.Fm" but I don't think it's possible with the photo posting the way it is.
