Will Ping.fm update my Adium message?
Will Ping.fm update my Adium message? I finally found the chat software for my Mac that I like (brings all IMing together) but don't see that Ping.fm will update that status. Oy.

Inappropriate?There's no way to tie in your Adium client with our web services. Might be something we can do some research on, but I'm pretty sure there's no way to talk to an Adium client.

Inappropriate?So, probably a little late.. but, you can use ping.fm to update twitter, then there is a twitter plugin for adium that will set your status on adium to your twitter status. Works exactly as you are saying.
Sign up with twitter @ www.twitter.com, set up the account in ping.fm, then download the plugin - and follow the directions.

Inappropriate?I tried this and can type in %_Twitter and get my Twitter status, but I tried putting that string in the custom status message and it's showing up as is, not pulling my status. Am I doing something wrong?

Inappropriate?@micaheli thanks for the tip. works great! recommend adding your self to your buddy list so you can see your status change when the plugin has been setup. that way you can verify it works because it will always say the %_Twitter on your end, but appear different to your friends.
