You should be able to update Google and Netvibes status messages.

I'd love to send status updates to Gmail / Google Talk and Netvibes. I've seen other people suggest the Google Talk status message as well. Netvibes now has public pages that include a "public wall" microblog / status message. I think there's more demand for the Google one, but Netvibes would be a nice feature as well.
