Can't share thru Pixelpipe Android - force closes
I have a rooted G1 and run Cyanogen 4.1.11.1 mod on it. Whenever I try to share to Pixelpipe from any app, Pixelpipe begins to open, but then force closes. There is no option to wait, it just bombs.
This happens when I use either of the paid apps currently out on the market: Pixelpipe Media Uploader Pro and Pixelpipe Post & Upload Pro.
Any word on this? I know it was reported. I really miss using Pixelpipe and don't want to have to use the MMS option since it uploads such small photos and is limited on what video can upload.

Inappropriate?Do you have an 8GB memory card installed by chance? That's the only issue we're aware of at this time.
We haven't tested with a Cyanogen modded phone either so there could be a conflict with your hacked phone. -
Inappropriate?Hi, Brett! Yes, I do have an 8GB card. I've been running CM mods for a couple of months and haven';t had this issue until lately. Is there a workaround for the 8GB card issue?
I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?Problem identified, it's the 8GB card causing the issue for you. We'll have a look and see if we can track down the cause now.
As a work around you can put a 4GB or smaller card into the phone -
Inappropriate?I've been using the 8GB card for several months and it is only since installing the beta that I had the problem with the force closes on sharing. I had been able to use the original pro version with share, but not after installing the beta of the newest pro version. I can't justify buying another card right now, so I guess Pixelpipe will have to wait. I hate that, because it's a great app and makes it so easy to share my photos in one step.
I’m disappointed

Inappropriate? We released an update that should resolve your issues with 8GB memory cards on Android. You can download the update now from the Android Market.
-
Inappropriate?Well, I still get a force close even with the new update. I'll have to do a backup, flash a stock ROM, and download Pixelpipe again to see if it force closes.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate? Are you running a donut or cupcake based build?
-
Inappropriate?It's a Donut 1.6 build.

Inappropriate? At the suggestion from @simms22 on Twitter, I tried some things. He was able to run it fine on CyanogenMod 4.1.11.1, so I tried something different. He suggested I try fixing permissions through the console.
After I did that, I uninstalled Pixelpipe and then reinstalled it anew, just to be safe. I then opened Pixelpipe directly rather than through sharing media to it and re-authenticated. When I opened gallery and shared a picture to Pixelpipe, there was no force close -- just the screen I wanted to see. Hooray!
I'm not sure which of the steps actually fixed it, or if I even needed to re-authenticate, but it's working. I'm glad I didn't have to mess with installing a stock ADP ROM of Donut to do test it. Yay!
I’m happy

Inappropriate?I think you're right on assuming it was an issue with permissions. We did a little research and found this post from Cyanogen that describes your issue.
Great to see this resolved for you!
Post from Cyanogen at xda:
"It seems that quite often after an upgrade (especially when using Apps2SD), Android rebuilds the /data/system/packages.xml file because it thinks you have reinstalled all of your apps. This results in missing apps, force closes, etc, because UIDs have changed and they don't match whats in your /data/data directory. It's almost always fixed by a wipe, but screw that"
I’m thankful
