We've rolled out a fix that allows for preservation of UTF-8 characters earlier today. The fix covers all of the most popular destinations with the remaining to be released tomorrow. Have a look and get back to us if you experience any issue

Inappropriate? We're sorry we haven't got this working yet, but naturally preservation of extended (Unicode) characters is important and we should have it fixed in a couple of weeks!

Inappropriate?Sorry about that, we had a partial fix and it looked like the problem had been resolved. Long story short we've worked through the night and have fixed the UTF-8 encoding issue with uploads you were experiencing. We'll be deploying the changes tomorrow, please get back to us if you have any further issues.

Inappropriate?Thank you for responding so quickly.
Unfortunately, there's no change when I use the pp uploadr.
On a side note:
I tried writing a caption in Picasa with 'ÆØÅæøå' and uploading with your picasa-plugin. That caption came through fine. -
Inappropriate?Same problem here, with Brazilian Portuguese. I sent an image from Nokia E71, using the online share feature. The accented letters (í and é) were represented with "?" on tags and description.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Same problem here, when I use the PixelPipe uploader App on my iPhone and have the picture send to Photobucket → http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t1...
As you can see there, it says "Spaziergang mit Cédric. Blick auf den neuentstehenden Teil von Dättnau."
The same picture has good UTF-8 international characters when sent to Flickr or PicasaWeb; there, it correctly shows "Spaziergang mit Cédric. Blick auf den neuentstehenden Teil von Dättnau."
Oh, and on the pixelpipe website, the "special" characters also aren't shown correctly:
File: img_0012.jpg
tags: , Unterwegs, iPhone
Description: Spaziergang mit C?dric. Blick auf den neuentstehenden Teil von D?ttnau.
Received 2009-06-28 16:10
Processed for 7 destinations.
I’m indifferent; it might be a PhotoBucket problem - but even then, it should just work.
