Deleting All Uploads Messes Up Design and Makes Navigation Unusable

when i delete all the entries in my recent uploads section, the sidebar, footer, and most of the body dissapears so i can't navigate through the site. The same exact thign happened to a friend of mine. He deleted all his uploads and the page half disappeared. i managed to go back in my history that had the cahce of a previous page to het to the quick post so i could at least have ONE in there so the sidebar would stay, but still...it's a silly hack and should be looked into. thanks for a great service!
