iPhone app 1.2 crashes on start!
Updated the iPhone app to 1.2 and it doesn't even start anymore. Deleted and re-installed, the same. Deleted, rebooted, re-installed and still the same. (iPhone 2G running the latest firmware).

It sounds like the authentication token (OAuth) that we store on your iPhone may need to be updated. To reset your token simply follow these steps
1. Open the 'Settings' dialog on your iPhone and scroll down to 'Pixelpipe'
2. Open 'Pixelpipe' and select 'Reset on next launch'
3. Exit out of 'Settings' and start the Pixelpipe application
4. If the application closes again after opening go back to 'Settings' and disable 'Reset on next launch'.
5. On next launch of the application a new token will be created.
Please get back to us and confirm this fixed your issue. I'm really curious why you're having this issue and nobody else is after upgrading. What firmware are you running?

Inappropriate?Did all this before, nothing changed. Tried again once more, still the same: the app crashes a few seconds after started.
As I said, iPhone 2G running the lastest firmware (2.2 - 5G77). Language set to English but Region Format to Brazil (tried USA too but didn't help either).
BTW, if it was the problem, un-installing the app and rebooting the iPhone shouldn't erase all its data like the OAuth token as well?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? The authentication is stored on the iPhone keychain and Apple doesn't provide a way to access it. We created the reset function to allow users to remove the authentication since there wasn't a way for the average user to get access to the keychain.
I have no idea why your phone isn't responding, we have thousands of upgrades today already without any reported issues.
Are you positive that you're following the instructions correctly & have confirmed that 'Reset on next launch' is NOT enabled in Settings/Pixelpipe?
If all else fails you could always reset your iPhone and restore from a backup in iTunes. That'll reset your keychain for sure. You really shouldn't need to though.
One last thought you may want to try would be to clear your browser cookies, that'll force a log-in and may allow you to re-authenticate.
Let us know how it goes. -
Inappropriate?Yes, I can assure you that I have changed the switch to OFF after starting the app with it ON once. Also deleted all Safari cookies and cache on iPhone too... Nothing changed. Can't do a restore now, and I am not willing to do it any time soon... Any other suggestions?
Oh, and thanks by the way: it was the fastest response I got here on GetSatisfaction. Kudos!

Inappropriate? Here's one more thing you can try.
1. Remove the iPhone application permissions at http://pixelpipe.com/settings/applica...
2. Reset browser cookies and cache on the iPhone
3. Open the 'Settings' dialog on your iPhone and scroll down to 'Pixelpipe'
4. Open 'Pixelpipe' and select 'Reset on next launch'
5. Exit out of 'Settings' and start the Pixelpipe application
6. If the application closes again after opening go back to 'Settings' and disable 'Reset on next launch'.
7. On next launch of the application a new token will be created. -
Inappropriate?Did all this again, nothing changed... Even deleted, rebooted and re-installed the app again, no deal. I still think it's crashing, and it's not an authorization problem.

Inappropriate?OK, sent. BTW, the info on that page is wrong: the crash logs are in the user folder:

Inappropriate?OK, I found the problem: I was 'playing' with Discover (a free app that enables file exchange between iPhones) and moved a PNG file to the root of the "Photos folder", the same place where the "camera roll" (or 100APPLE folder) is located... After I removed this file, Pixelpipe started to work again.
Thanks for your help and keep up the great work!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I got the same Problem and i followed your steps too but it didnt worked for me. But i reseted my iphone to factory settings and installed pixelpipe again, then it was working but i needed all my other stuff, so i restored my iphone with itunes. And after restoring i got the same problem.
Which other app can be the problem? @LF MArtins got it fixed
I’m sad
-
As I said in my previous comment, I used Discover, a free iPhone app, to delete the file (it was the same app I used to move the image to the folder that causes Pixelpipe to crash on startup).
The problem is that the new version released yesterday (0.9.6) doesn't allow you to delete files in the Photos directory (it's actually DCIM in the iPhone file system). Researching on the Internet I found a free program that can be used with either Mac or PC to remove the files from Photos/DCIM folder, called DiskAid:
http://www.digidna.net/diskaid/
Hope it helps you fix the problem. Cheers! -

Inappropriate?@LF martins
thx for your help. but i dont know what i installed at least and what app is useing my pix. -
No matter what app you are using or used, if you use DiskAid you should be able to remove any extra files/folders from DCIM and it is what fixed my problem... -
