Don't like 1.0b7 v77 at all! SLOWWWWWWWWW!!
Does anyone else have the last version, and have any issues with it? When I take a snapshot there is a serious lag going on... everything happens in slow-mo and it is painful. No problems with any version prior to this, and this issue is enough to make me go back to SnapzProX. Any advice?

Inappropriate?Hi sassafras,
Very sorry to hear you are having this kind of issue with Skitch :(
"everything happens in slow-mo and it is painful" = Is this all Applications or just Skitch?
How are the Screenshots being taken? Via Crosshairs or Frame and if you are using the Hotkeys (command+shift+5) to invoke the Snap, please let us know!
Also, could you please try restarting your computer and please let me know if the same thing is happening please?
Thanks for your patience! -
Inappropriate?Hi Kramy, thanks for the quick response. I have restarted, and it usually goes away. But it pretty much is a consistent, on-going thing. It almost acts as if there is a ram leak in the app, or that the ram requirements have gone WAY up. It is nothing like anything I have ever experienced with Skitch (which I generally love, BTW). I am a long-time user of screen-shot apps, which I use for quickie online or email proofs for clients. I used to use SnapZPro, which is ok, but a bit over-priced for what it does. I do like the ability to screen record movies for tutorials, and would welcome that coming from you guys. The ability to immediately drag & drop into an email or folder, as opposed to pasting from a clipboard buffer into a new file & saving is a killer time-saver for me.
I usually open up Skitch first and use the Crosshairs to carefully select what I need. I do not use the key commands, as sometimes even in Snapz it is a bit buggy.
Is there a way to back-grade to the previous version?
thanks,

Inappropriate?Hi sassafras,
Thanks for the kind words.
Due to the nature of the beta update system, unfortunately an older build would not run. We're looking into that issue now.. what type of mac, and what version of OS X do you have?
Also, on the issue of pricing, what price would you think would be appropriate for the Skitch app and Skitch.com service? -
Inappropriate?Hi Keith, I am currently running a patched version provided by you guys... which seems to be running a bit better. I have not seen any slow-downs like I had before, I am not sure if it is as "peppy" as the previous versions though (which is probably admittedly subjective). I am giving it a week to see any slowdowns are still occurring. I am on a 24" Intel iMac with 3gb of RAM and running 10.5.5...
On price, like junkies you might find it hard to convert us to a paid user, lol. The current price is hard to beat, especially these days. I already own Snapz, and have faithfully upgraded it over the years as it went from a reasonably priced useful app to a pushing the envelope of price vs efficiency. Snapz has the advantage of being able to screen record movies/sequences (at an add'l expense). I don't really use the .com part, well maybe once or twice... so it would be hard to put a value on that aspect. Snapz, at least the most recent version actually seems to have some colorspace/gamma issues. Images pasted into pshop appear darker, while images pasted into imageready are ok. Skitch does not seem to do this, as the files just "are", as opposed to getting pasted into a created doc from a clipboard buffer. So, maybe around $19.99? In my age I am getting fed up with overpriced software (despite having a lot of it). I would be interested in a movie capture function..
BYW, did you guys know that RealMac (RapidWeaver folks) is also coming out with a screen capture utility? -
Inappropriate?Hi sassafras,
Thanks for the detailed reply. Sounds like the patched version is working OK. Keep us informed. :-)
Yes — I've seen the upcoming Realmac stuff. More competition is usually good for the customer and I think everyone in this space is interested in pushing forward.
Can I ask where the images you create end up mostly?
And what kinds of things do you (and anyone else reading) video?
Many thanks
Keith
